Not knowing the Holy Spirit isn’t right,
yet we’re afraid to know Him.

【林前2:9】如经上所记：“ 神为爱他的人所预备的，是眼睛未曾看见，耳朵未曾听见，人心也未曾想到的。”
【林前2:10】只有 神藉着圣灵向我们显明了，因为圣灵参透万事，就是 神深奥的事也参透了。
9 But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the heart of man imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love him”—
10these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.

【林前2:11】除了在人里头的灵，谁知道人的事？像这样，除了 神的灵，也没有人知道 神的事。
【林前2:12】我们所领受的，并不是世上的灵，乃是从 神来的灵，叫我们能知道 神开恩赐给我们的事。
11For who knows a person’s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God.

【林前2:13】并且我们讲说这些事，不是用人智慧所指教的言语，乃是用圣灵所指教的言语，将属灵的话解释属灵的事。
【林前2:14】然而，属血气的人不领会 神圣灵的事，反倒以为愚拙，并且不能知道，因为这些事惟有属灵的人才能看透。
13And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.
14The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.

【林前2:15】属灵的人能看透万事，却没有一人能看透了他。
【林前2:16】谁曾知道主的心去教导他呢？但我们是有基督的心了。
15The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. 16“For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

【林前3:1】弟兄们，我从前对你们说话，不能把你们当作属灵的，只得把你们当作属肉体、在基督里为婴孩的。
【林前3:2】我是用奶喂你们，没有用饭喂你们。那时你们不能吃，就是如今还是不能。
1But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ.
2I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready,

【林前3:3】你们仍是属肉体的，因为在你们中间有嫉妒、纷争，这岂不是属乎肉体、照着世人的样子行吗？
3for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way?

Why is knowing the Holy Spirit and His work essential?

【林前1Cor 2:9】如经上所记：“ 神为爱他的人所预备的，是眼睛未曾看见，耳朵未曾听见，人心也未曾想到的。”
But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the heart of man imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love him”—
【林前1Cor 1:30】神又使他（基督）成为我们的智慧、公义、圣洁、救赎。Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption,

【林前1Cor 2:10】只有 神藉着圣灵向我们显明了，因为圣灵参透万事，就是 神深奥的事也参透了。
these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.

【林前1Cor 2:11】除了在人里头的灵，谁知道人的事？像这样，除了 神的灵，也没有人知道 神的事。
For who knows a person’s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

【林前1Cor 2:12】我们所领受的，并不是世上的灵，乃是从 神来的灵，叫我们能知道 神开恩赐给我们的事。
Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God.
【徒Acts 2:38】彼得说：“你们各人要悔改，奉耶稣基督的名受洗，叫你们的罪得赦，就必领受所赐的圣灵；
And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

【林前1Cor 2:14-15】
然而，属血气的人不领会 神圣灵的事，反倒以为愚拙，并且不能知道，因为这些事惟有属灵的人才能看透。
属灵的人能看透万事，却没有一人能看透了他。
The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.
The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one.

谁曾知道主的心去教导他呢？但我们是有基督的心了。
“For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

你们仍是属肉体的，因为在你们中间有嫉妒、纷争，这岂不是属乎肉体、照着世人的样子行吗？
for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way?

2.1 圣灵是谁？
Who is the Holy Spirit?

【创Gen 1:1-2】起初 神创造天地。…神的灵运行在水面上。
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. ..And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
【创Gen 1:26】 神说：“我们要照着我们的形像，按着我们的样式造人.
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.

【罗Rom 15:30】又藉着圣灵的爱，劝你们与我一同竭力为我祈求 神，
and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God on my behalf,
【徒Acts 16:7】…他们想要往庇推尼去，耶稣的灵却不许。
they attempted to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them.

But the Spirit of the LORD came upon Gideon, and he blew a trumpet; and Abiezer was gathered after him.

In the New Testament: all who receive Jesus Christ’s salvation

【约John 14:16】父就另外赐给你们一位保惠师，叫他永远与你们同在，(The Father) will give you another Advocate to be with you forever—

【徒Acts 1:4】耶稣…嘱咐他们说：“不要离开耶路撒冷，要等候父所应许的，就是你们听见我说过的，He commanded them: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift the Father promised, which you have heard Me discuss.
【徒Acts 1:8】但圣灵降临在你们身上，你们就必得着能力；…作我的见证。but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you…

【徒Acts 2:1-3】
五旬节到了，门徒都聚集在一处。
忽然，从天上有响声下来，好像一阵大风吹过，充满了他们所坐的屋子；又有舌头如火焰显现出来，分开落在他们各人头上。
When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like a mighty rushing wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw tongues like flames of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.

彼得说：“你们各人要悔改，奉耶稣基督的名受洗，叫你们的罪得赦，就必领受所赐的圣灵；
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

耶稣说：“…人若不是从水和圣灵生的，就不能进 神的国。
Jesus answered, “…, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.
【西Cor 3:4】基督是我们的生命。
…Christ, who is our life,

【约John 14:16】父就另外赐给你们一位保惠师，叫他永远与你们同在，(The Father) will give you another Advocate to be with you forever—
【加Gal 4:6】…神就差他儿子的灵进入你们的心，呼叫：“阿爸，父！” God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying out, “Abba! Father!”

A living and loving God is with us—�our companion, our protector, and our guide.

Largely because we have not
rightly known or responded to the Holy Spirit.

不要醉酒，酒能使人放荡，乃要被圣灵充满。
当用诗章、颂词、灵歌彼此对说，口唱心和地赞美主。
凡事要奉我们主耶稣基督的名常常感谢父 神。
Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to reckless indiscretion. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.
Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord,
always giving thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

【约John 14:20】
到那日你们就知道我在父里面，你们在我里面，我也在你们里面。
On that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you are in Me, and I am in you.

只有神同在的理论，
却没有神同在的实际，
There is the theory of God's presence,
but not the reality of it.

【弗Eph 5:18-20】

The Work of the Holy Spirit (2): Leading people to Christ

The Holy Spirit does not glorify Himself—�He leads people to Christ
【约John 16:13-14】只等真理的圣灵来了，他要引导你们明白一切的真理；…他要荣耀我（耶稣基督），因为他要将受于我的告诉你们。When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. …and He will declare to you what is to come. He will glorify Me (Christ) by taking from what is Mine and disclosing it to you.

2) 圣灵把人带入真理，认识耶稣基督
The Holy Spirit leads us into truth
and into knowing Jesus Christ.

【彼后2Pet1:21】（圣经）乃是人被圣灵感动，说出 神的话来。
(The Bible) but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
【约John 16:13-14】只等真理的圣灵来了，他要引导你们明白一切的真理；When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth.
【约5:39】你们查考圣经…给我（基督）作见证的就是这经。” You examine the Scriptures …; and it is those very Scriptures that testify about Me;

【约John 15:5】我是葡萄树，你们是枝子；常在我里面的，我也常在他里面，I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him,
【林前1Cor 1:30】…神又使他成为我们的智慧、公义、圣洁、救赎。became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,
【加5:22】圣灵所结的果子，就是仁爱、喜乐、和平、忍耐、恩慈、良善、信实、… the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

4) 跟从基督、见证基督
Following Christ and Bearing Witness to Him
【约John 12:26】若有人服侍我，就当跟从我；我在哪里，服侍我的人也要在那里；If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also;
【徒Acts 1:8】但圣灵降临在你们身上，你们就必得着能力；…作我的见证。but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses

魔鬼，不但拦阻我们接受基督
也会引诱我们离开基督。
The devil not only tries to keep us from Christ,�but also seeks to draw us away from Him.

圣灵的工作4：保守我们分辨、对付罪，稳固地行在基督里
The Work of the Holy Spirit (4):
Guarding us as we discern deception, deal with sin,
and walk steadfastly in Christ

1）提醒与回应 Prompting and Response
【帖前1Th 5:19】不要消灭圣灵的感动，Do not quench the Spirit,
【弗Eph 4:30】不要叫 神的圣灵担忧，And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God,
【雅James 4:5】神所赐住在我们里面的灵，是恋爱至于嫉妒吗？The Spirit that He has made to dwell in us yearns with envy?

2）识别谬误 Discernment
【约壹1John 2:27】自有主的恩膏（圣灵）在凡事上教训你们。but as His anointing (Holy Spirit) teaches you about all things,
【约壹1John 4:6】认识 神的就听从我们（使徒）；不属 神的，就不听从我们。从此我们可以认出真理的灵和谬妄的灵来。Whoever knows God listens to us (Apostles); whoever is not from God does not listen to us. That is how we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of deception.

真理的灵，以基督为中心，
以敬拜神、侍奉神为满足。
谬妄的灵，以自我为中心，
以世上名利事务为满足。
The Spirit of truth is Christ-centred,
and finds satisfaction in worshiping and serving God.
The spirit of deception is self-centred,
and finds satisfaction in the pursuits of this world.

3) 认罪
Repentance
【约John 16:8】他既来了，就要叫世人为罪、为义、为审判，自己责备自己。when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment;

4) 胜过肉体情欲，稳固地行在基督里
Overcoming the flesh, and walking steadfastly in Christ
【加Gal 5:16】…你们当顺着圣灵而行，就不放纵肉体的情欲了。walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
【罗Rom 8:13】你们若顺从肉体活着，必要死；若靠着圣灵治死身体的恶行，必要活着。For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

而且也保守我们分辨错误、对付罪，
稳固地在基督里与神同行。
The Holy Spirit not only leads us to follow Christ,�but also guards us as we discern error and deal with sin,�and walk steadfastly with God in Christ.

【林前1Cor 12:7】圣灵显在各人身上，是叫人得益处。To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
【林前1Cor 12:27】你们就是基督的身子，并且各自作肢体。Now you are the body of Christ, and each of you is a member of it.
【约John 13:35】你们若有彼此相爱的心，众人因此就认出你们是我的门徒了。By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.

【林前1Cor 12:28】神在教会所设立的：第一是使徒，第二是先知，第三是教师，其次是行异能的，再次是得恩赐医病的、帮助人的、治理事的、说方言的。
And God has appointed in the church, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, various kinds of tongues.

【约5:19】 …子凭着自己不能作什么，惟有看见父所作的，子才能作；the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing;
【约John 16:32】其实我不是独自一人，因为有父与我同在。 yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.

【可Mark 1:35】次日早晨，天未亮的时候，耶稣起来，到旷野地方去，在那里祷告。 Early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up and went out to a solitary place to pray.
【太Matt 12:28】我若靠着 神的灵赶鬼，这就是 神的国临到你们了。But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

The Holy Spirit is not distant or mysterious,�but One we can know and respond to rightly.
