Jamboard App

Just like writing on a regular classroom board - you can:

  • write
  • draw
  • add images
  • use different colors
  • add sticky notes
  • multi-page slides
  • pull in work from Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides; even add photos stored in Drive.

Use your class site for planning the lesson. Link the jamboard into the planning.

Model the lesson using the app. Explain the Learn, Create, Share aspects of the lesson by modelling an example with the students.

Distance Learning by…

  • Daily google meet with class (and parents)
  • Sharing daily work on class site
  • Students sharing with me because they want a purpose to do the mahi
  • Ensuring I respond with lots of awhi and some feedforward

This is the best thing I have learnt how to use!

I was desperate to make a video. This was easy to use and easy to upload to my class site.

Class Site

I have added the Cloud Audio Recorder extension which has enabled me to easily add audio to my slides. I can record tips, suggestions and ideas for the whanau on the learning slide to help make things clearer and easier for them without having to add lots of written text.

Example of using this as part of writing during home learning.

Kawakawa Primary

  • We had organised hard packs before Lock down that kids have been working on this week.
  • We all have a messenger group per class to communicate with parents which is really great.
  • We have a hangout with our class every couple of days. This is really just a sharing time for kids to share their work. We are finding it hard to teach on here.
  • We have created some videos with teaching for kids or tips for parents.
  • We have created sites with some challenges and other bits on there to help and we will keep adding to it.
  • We are just looking at where to next with kids not coming back to school next week. Sharing a reading, writing and maths task a day.
