CAPABLE App goals

Goal 1: The CAPABLE app will provide reminders and instructions for performing healthy behaviors to improve patients’ health

Examples include:

  • Reminders to walk 30 minutes in nature, twice a week
  • Notifications containing links to meditation (deep breathing) videos or to Yoga videos that should be performed daily

Goal 2: Goal: the CAPABLE app will give patients point rewards for performing the behaviors in order to motivate them

Example 1 (single session)

Background: Meditation is recommended to be performed for 10 minutes once a day.

Exercise: write user stories for the recommended behavior.

  • The user stories should define the requirements well enough for a programmer of the Health App to understand them fully. So, it should include the reward. In this case the reward is 100%.
  • For making the user story more understandable to the programmer, provide a calculation for the award received for a particular number of minutes.

Solution:

User story 1: Recommended Behavior.

User performs Meditation as recommended and receives 100% reward. The recommended behavior is performing Meditation once a day for 10 minutes.

Score[10]=100%

  • For making the user story more understandable to the programmer, provide a calculation for the award received for a particular number of minutes.

Solution:

User story 2: Recommended Behavior.
