All components of the HSBP are required for high school graduation by the State of Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction

What is the High School & Beyond Plan?

  • The High School & Beyond Plan revolves around three questions:
    • Who am I?
    • What can I become?
    • How do I become that?
  • It is a State of Washington graduation requirement, designed to help students get the most out of high school and think about their future.
  • Students work with school counselors and advisors to create their own individual plan and postsecondary goals
  • Postsecondary aspirations may include four-year colleges or universities, two-year community or technical colleges, apprenticeship programs, industry standard certificate programs, military training, or on-the-job training.

  • Your username and password are the same as your school laptop login

STEP 2:  Your Assigned Tasks will open.  Scroll down to see "Tasks you Need to Work On”

The ones marked GRADUATION are tasks you MUST DO prior to graduation (the Graduation/Senior Survey will be assigned in May of your graduating year)

** Note: The tasks that say 'Required' or 'Recommended' are good to do, but not actually required for graduation.

What is the 4-Year Course Plan?

  • A four-year plan for high school course-taking
  • The plan must fulfill state and local graduation requirements
  • The plan should be updated regularly to align with the student's career and educational goals

Create/Update your 4-year Plan �on Naviance

  1. Click on “Courses” on the menu bar at the top
  2. Click Manage Course Plans

*If you have started a plan, update it.

If you haven’t created any draft plans yet, click the

If you don’t see the exact course you plan to complete or completed, please pick an equivalent course so you can complete the plan.

The Career Interest Profiler is an online career interest assessment that allows students to complete an inventory which analyzes their own interests and pairs the results with potential career matches

Creating a Resume - What is a Resume?

  • A resume is a typed, one/two-page summary of YOU and your experiences

  • Upload an existing resume if you already have one or prefer to create one outside of Naviance

  • Use the Resume Builder on Naviance as an easy way to create a resume and to keep track of all your work activities, volunteer activities, awards, and more!

Uploading an Existing Resume to Naviance

  • Click on “About Me”
  • Click on “Resume”
  • Click on “Create/Update Resume”
  • Click on the button that says “Drop files or click to Browse...”
  • Clicking on that button allows you to upload your resume document.
  • It will still show that the task is “incomplete”. Please email Mr. Valdez the College & Career Advisor that you have completed this task and he will update this task manually.

What is the Graduation Pathway Survey?

  • Completing the Graduation Pathway Survey shows that you are aware of the different ways you can meet the Washington State Math and English Language Arts Assessment Requirements

 

  • There are multiple pathways for meeting the Math and Language Arts assessment requirements. Most students will meet more than one!

 

  • You must complete the survey indicating which of the pathways you HAVE MET or PLAN to meet. You only need to choose “This is my pathway” for one option, but you can choose more. Other pathways should be marked “This is not my pathway”.

 

  • If you don’t have the scores or information you need to fill in all the information, mark ‘Save and Come Back’. If you have fully completed the survey, mark ‘Save and Finish’

Graduation Pathway

Completing a graduation pathway helps prepare students for what comes after high school graduation. It also signals to employers and postsecondary education/training institutions a student’s readiness for that step. ​

The Financial Aid Survey�to be completed in 12th grade

  • Ensures you have the information you need to apply for Financial Aid for college
  • Completing a Financial Aid Application is not required (though always recommended!)
  • Completing the HSBP Financial Aid Survey is required
  • For students not applying for financial aid, please open the document and at the end of the form, complete the question, “I do not plan to apply for financial aid because:”
