  • What your Pen Pal Outline should include:
    • Greeting (Dear Pen Pal, Dear Friend, etc.)
    • Body:
      • Self-Introduction (Tell Pen Pal a little about yourself – name, age, where you live, how many family members you have, etc.)
        • Things you like to do (what do you like to do in your free time?)
      • Introduction to your school (school name, location, subjects, favorite subjects, etc.)
      • Chinese New Year Traditions (how do you celebrate Chinese Lunar New Year?)
    • Closing
      • End with a friendly remark and your signature!

Winter Vacation Homework #2 – “Show and Tell” Speech

  • Bring a special souvenir you got on your winter vacation to school.
    • It could be a toy, a piece of art, a meaningful thing, or anything else you like!
  • Tell the class about your souvenir
    • What is it?
    • What does it look like?
    • What is it made of?
    • Where did you get it?
    • Why is it special to you? (who gave it to you and what memories does it bring back?)
  • Bring your souvenir to school on Wednesday, February 12, to share with your classmates (in homeroom classes!)
