WILDKIT OFFENSE

(a work in progress)

2 of 33

Why the Wildkit Offense?

The Wildkit offense should add more structure to our “principles” based offense from last season.

The goal is to give more structure without taking away your ability to play to your strengths and read and react to the game.

We are looking to find more middle ground between freedom and chaos.

Play lacrosse.

What is the Wildkit Offense?

The Wildkit offense is an open set with triggers to change from open to different sets based on our teammates actions.

It mirrors a “box lacrosse” offense with a swing man at x. We will have 5 players in a “house” above GLE with a 3 man “strong side” and a 2 man “weak side”.

There is a 3 man (strong) side and a 2 man (weak side) dictated by dominant hands of players. The “x” man can also join the “weak” side to operate in a 3 man game. This will allow for 2/3 man game opportunities on both sides of the field.

The trigger will be the “middle entry”. This trigger can happen on the strong or the weak side.

Questions?

Q: When do we middle entry?

A: On the initiator. When the initiator receives the ball.

Q: Who does the middle entry mirror?

A: He mirrors the initiator (or the action). In an iso, that is the dodger. In a 2 man, that is the passer.
