Principal’s Message
All students have been super busy researching their Independent Study Project. After finishing the written portion of the assignment, they are creating some form of display to showcase to all parents/grand parents on April 4th from 5:30 to 7:00pm.
Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions/concerns or suggestions on how to make our school an even better place to be!
Thanks kindly,
Mr. Jardine
I would like to express my appreciation to Ms. McGinnis for organizing the Book Fair for our school. It had been a number of years since our last Book Fair and it was well received by all. Any profits from the Book Fair goes right back into purchasing more books for our library so that is also a wonderful thing.
Sigmund Brouwer, a famous Canadian author, joined our school on March 6th for the afternoon. He spoke to the Grades 1-9 in the gym with a presentation titled “Rock and Roll Literacy” and then spent another hour providing writing strategies to our Grades 5 and 6 students. A big thank you to our School Council for cost sharing this presentation with the school.

Parents can access the Alberta Education website to get informed and have a better understanding of Alberta's curriculum and related information at each grade level.
Here is the link to the parent resource page (copy/paste into your browser)

Be sure to check out the Clive School Family Handbook, available on our website. There is a wealth of good information there, and the last three pages hold the calendar of events for the year.
Telephone Calls During Instructional Time:
Please note that telephone calls during class time can disrupt student learning; thus we ask that telephone calls to students and staff during class time be limited to cases of urgency. Teachers, EAs and our School Social Worker all have voicemail for non-urgent matters. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Our sincere appreciation to all parents and other volunteers who have filled out the Volunteer Application Forms and brought in a Vulnerable Sector Check to our school. If there are any other parents who would like to volunteer at the school, please contact the school office for a Volunteer package. (There is no charge to get your Vulnerable Sector Check done at an RCMP detachment when you have this signed form from our principal.)

Grade 6 Office Workers
If you call the Clive School office between 12:11 and 12:50, there may be an enthusiastic Grade 6 student answering the phone!
As part of their preparation for leadership in Junior High, several student volunteers will be taking turns covering the office over the lunch break. They will be happy to assist you by taking and relaying messages for staff and students.

Late Arrivals to School
Students who arrive late to school, either in the morning or after lunch (after the 8:25 or 12:50 bell), MUST report to the office. They will be given a “late slip” to present to their teacher.
Clive School welcomes guests
and volunteers to our school.
We ask at all volunteers and visitors
enter and exit
through the main front doors,
and sign in and out at the front office.
Thank you!
Parents taking pictures at school
When you are at Clive School, please be sensitive regarding taking taking pictures of students who are not your own children, and then posting them on Facebook or other online social media sites. Some of our parents request (for different reasons) that their child's pictures do not appear on these sites.
