Welcome Honors Algebra & Geometry

• Love watching my kids sports, FSU Seminoles, New Orleans Saints, anything outdoors

High School Credit Course

• Algebra and Geometry are HS credit courses
• Course follows HS Math policies
• Midterm, Algebra EOC, Final exams
• Semester grades show on HS transcript
• Grade does NOT affect GPA or class rank in HS
• Students must be passing at the 1^st 9-week mark in order to stay in the course (Algebra ONLY)
• No schedule changes after the 1^st 9-week mark

• A graphing calculator is HIGHLY recommended
• Students will

need/use it throughout

MS, HS, and College

• TI-84 Plus CE is my

best recommendation:

3-ring Binder suggested (notes, homework, assessments),

pencils, notebook/graph paper,

What is a Flipped Classroom? (For Algebra)

​

•Instructional/Lesson videos and notetaking is done at home.

•Further discussion/deeper dive is done in class.

•Practice is done in the classroom, with peers and teacher support.

Geometry

​

•We follow the high school schedule/curriculum

•We alternate notes and practice

•Tests are typically 2 days.

Late Work

• Please see the BCMS grading policy for Late Daily work

Re-Testing

• One retake opportunity per test
• ½ credit back up to a 80 max grade
• Must have all unit work turned in, including test review, and all lesson videos completed, PRIOR to taking original test.
• Must make test corrections to be eligible for re-test
• Must attend a scheduled retest session
