MUS 101- MUSIC APPRECIATION
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Identify
Successfully identify characteristics of each musical era covered in the course
Identify the elements of music within given pieces of music.
Discuss
Discuss musical eras, including characteristics, composers, and influences that older music had on popular music of today
Discuss Specific genres of music, characteristics, artists/ composers, and the influence of the genre in music history
Listen
Attend and evaluate a musical e vent (opera, recital, and symphony, musical) and demonstrate proper concert behavior.
Critically listen to a piece of music and analyze it.

Listen
There will be a video with information and recommended listening examples .. This is essential to your learning .
Discuss
Each week there will be a video with a discussion question . Please feel free to leave a comment or respond with a video if you so choose.
Talk to others
Learn from your classmates! Read and respond to their posts as well. There are a lot of different perspectives to hear and learn from.
