COURSE OBJECTIVES

Identify

Successfully identify characteristics of each musical era covered in the course

Identify the elements of music within given pieces of music.

Discuss

Discuss musical eras, including characteristics, composers, and influences that older music had on popular music of today

Discuss Specific genres of music, characteristics, artists/ composers, and the influence of the genre in music history

Listen

Attend and evaluate a musical e vent (opera, recital, and symphony, musical) and demonstrate proper concert behavior.

Critically listen to a piece of music and analyze it.
