What is it? This is research about looking up on some paintings.

What does it relate to? I have this research and it relates to my work because I’ve create a short documentary film about rescue dogs. I can learn from books because I will have a way of how dogs behave and presented in the story and by looking at paintings I can learn about how dogs are presenting by photographs and also by the colours, and the type of breeds the dogs are.

What do you like about it? From the painting of dogs playing a card, I like how the dogs were drawn and coloured in and the lighting is pretty good. I also like how the dogs were playing poker like people doing that in a pup and they were also drinking whiskey which dogs are not allowed to drink. With my dog character I also made the dog talk like humans do. The Serenade (The Broken String) painting got my attention because I like the old style it was designed and I like the dog sitting next to the girl because it looks like it howling along with the music the little girl is playing on the violin. I learned from the painting that if the dog could speak, it can sing along with its owner’s violin music and although that my dog looks different as it doesn’t sit down, it just walks around I really like this painting. The painting of He Is Saved, Currier & Ives, it fits with my theme of the rescue dogs because the dog in the painting has rescued someone from the beach. The painting of Lady Hamilton as Nature we have a metaphor of a human representing nature and the painting gave me idea of how the little dog beside her reminds me of the love that dog have in my project. Dogs are often used in paintings fidelity like they won’t betray you and always be by your side.

What is it? This is research about books about rescue dogs

What does it relate to? The books that I have found are children's books and they relate to my work and dog character that I created through drawn character and illustrations as well as storylines where dogs are acting like humans.

What do you like about it? I like the books of Spot the dog because he’s sort of similar to my dog character but in different designs, for example he uses his front paws like humans use hands to pick up stuff and sometimes walks on two legs. I wanted my character to walk on two legs but decided to make him walk on four to make him realistic. I also like the book Clifford the Big Red Dog because my character is the same sort of breed as Clifford because they’re both labradors. I like the character Poky Little Puppy because my character sounds young and if puppies did talk they would sound like children. Although I never read the books by the RSPCA but the titles inspire me and relate to my film like the Abandoned Kitten, Puppy Gets Stuck, Bunny needs a friend, Lamb all alone and Little Lost Hedgehog. I also got inspired by the title Animal rescue friends, the which I didn’t read it either and it got me inspired my documentary film because of the rescue dog centres that I told about.

What is it? This is research about video games about dogs

What does it relate to? These games I found are related to my project because they have the theme rescue dogs because my documentary is about rescue dog centres and one of the games is similar to the animation that I’ve done with my dog character

What do you like about it? I’ve never played any of these games before, but I have watched YouTube videos about them and what I liked about them are the models that they created, the animation they moved during the action parts and cutscenes, and I like the cutscenes of the games, it’s like the next scene in a movie.

Examples and Relate - Photographs

What is it? This is research about photographs about rescue dogs

What does it relate to? These photos are related to my project because I’ve added a collection of photos and images into my documentary and the photo of the dog looking at the waterfalls is similar to how dogs were left and abandoned by their owners.

What do you like about it? I like how the dogs are sitting and standing still when their photos are taken, and I like the close up on the shepherd dog and the dachshund. I also like the colours that we’re coming out of the dalmatians, it looks really bright and colourful, I like the photo of the dog on the rock because of the view of the water that is under the water and the above the water.
