At Blazier Elementary, we believe that students want to be successful and do their best every day in school! To help guide our students learn what it means to be safe, responsible, productive, and respectful at school we have implemented a Positive Behavior Initiative Plan.

Our Blazier Positive Behavior Initiative Plan:

  • Puts safety at school first
  • Supports the whole child
  • Fosters relationship building
  • Sets the climate and culture for how we learn at school
  • Encourages students to focus on learning
  • Allows for students to take ownership of their learning

Blazier Positive

Behavior Plan

Blazier implements a Positive Behavior Intervention program that prioritizes the safety of ALL students in the learning environment. We believe that each child is responsible for his or her actions. Blazier teachers work to establish a strong sense of community in each classroom. Each class develops a class culture that includes behavior expectations in the classroom. These are developed by the students to guide the class throughout the school year. Positive rewards are offered to students to recognize appropriate behavior. As a campus we first respond to behaviors through our Tiers of Support by various staff (teachers, counselors, administrators).

If a child is sent to the office for a behavioral concern, parents will be called by the school.

Tardies

It is very important that children arrive on time to school each day. Class begins promptly at 7:45 am and the tardy bell rings. Morning routines and procedures are a very important part of your child’s educational experience.

**Once the doors close, parents will have to come inside to sign students in.**

A conference with the parent will be requested if tardies are excessive and impacting your child’s educational opportunity. Tardies will be recorded and will be reported on your child’s report cards.

Parents will have to attend an Attendance Matters class if their child accumulates excessive absences and/or tardies.
