Would best Practices for CAD on the wiki be helpful for people?
Changing the motor mount bolt holes to slots (horizontal?) is the only easy way I see to add adjustment to tension the tracks. This may require significant torque on the mounting bolts. So can the motor body steel support the enough compression without stripping? And the bolts need to be a grade such that they don’t break off easy if over torqued.
Also there are some dimension changes assuming a switch from ¾” plate to ½” plate. Do we need any ¾” plate parts? I think cutting everything out of ½” is best and strong enough. For instance the track rollers and spacing of the links. And the existing drive motor sprocket and body is not easily editable yet. I see the sprocket geometry is scaled to roller size, but the thickness is ¾” now instead of ½”plate.
The Sprocket also needs plates welded to the sides where the track links ride; ½” plate should work assuming everything else is ½”.
