Program overview

  • 22 month Associate in Science Degree program.
  • a full-time program. No part-time options are available. Most classes, laboratories, and clinical education assignments are scheduled Monday - Friday. In the second year some courses may be scheduled in the evening.
  • Students must attend all lecture, laboratory and clinical education courses as scheduled in the Cabrillo College schedule of classes.

Accreditation

The Radiologic Technology Program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) and has achieved an eight year accreditation cycle, the highest award possible. The program is also an approved School of Radiography by the California Department of Public Health-Radiation Health Branch.

Program Requirements: Prerequisites

  • BIO 4* (Anatomy) - 4 units
  • BIO 5* (Physiology) - 4 units
  • PHYS 10 - (Conceptual Physics) - 3 units
  • ENGL 1A (College Composition) - 3 units
  • PSYCH 1 (General Psychology) - 3 units
  • MA 70* (Medical Terminology) - 3 units

* these courses have to be taken within last 6 years at the time of application

Selection Process

  • Application cycle: Sept 1 - Oct 1 (once a year) - start the following fall
  • Random selection
  • No waiting list
  • No volunteer experience or letters of recommendation required
  • 16-20 students will be selected by lottery selection
    • 6-8 alternates will be selected, and will be placed into the program
