WebUI Highlights (1)

  • New GEi for Synchronization GE: FiVES
    • First version released in Sprint 4.3.2
      • Software available in FIWARE Forge
      • Documentation still work in progress
      • Planned to be released before end of 4.3.3
    • Optimized towards 3D-UI-XMLD GEri clients
    • Future plans:
      • Websocket serialization format �for 3D-UI-WebTundra clients
      • SceneAPI via REST
      • Align with ongoing discussion about �improved POI/CB API & data formats

  • New generic configurable dynamic POI release available

  • GIS GE:
    • Asset instancing feature implemented to the server side
      • Enables web client to be able to refer 3d objects in the XML files instead of merging object definition directly to DOM.
    • Octet-stream data set support added to the reference client
      • Now terrain can be generated based on the elevation data provided in efficient binary format.

Demo: Interface Designer

  • Scene saving functionality, Javascript API in progress
  • Originally planned to show demo
  • Had to be canceled due to move of meeting to Tuesday
    • Owner gives presentation at event in Finland (related to FIWARE)
  • Demo will be shown at one of next demo meetings

Plans for Next Sprint

  • 3D-UI-XML3D:
    • Updating recipes and bundles to new version (still impeded by Lab issues)
    • XML3D 5.0 under development.
      • Estimated release date: Not later than FIWARE Release 4.4
    • Potential basis for W3C standardization
      • Via “Declarative 3D for the Web” Community Group
  • Cross-chapter discussion on POI
    • Come up with future architecture and interfaces
    • Jointly analyse conceptual and technical differences
    • Next steps:
      • Start and jointly develop a requirements document (→ Stefan Lemme, DFKI)
      • For each requirement, list possible API and data model options
      • Compare different APIs and see how we can best fulfill these requirements
