Curriculum and Standards

  • At NYOS, our teachers use the TEKS (Texas state standards) to guide our curriculum and instruction.
  • We use a variety of resources to support our students’ learning of the standards and content.
  • Our students’ learning is supplemented with online programs linked within Clever such as Amplify, Epic!, and Dreambox.
  • Using the CBE (Competency Based Education) framework we differentiate learning goals to ensure that all students are engaged and developing as learners.

Kinder Connecting Camp:

As we work to have the most balanced Kindergarten classes, we will have a “soft start” for the first week of school. Kindergarten and First Grade is such a critical loop in student development and grouping students in a way that allows for each child to truly reach their potential is vital.

This allows for flexibility in student classes before final classes are formed. Your child will have the opportunity to work with all kinder teachers for the first few days of school in what we call Kinder Connecting Camp!
