Spellings
Following a successful trial in Years 3 & 4, this year we will be implementing a new approach to spelling, building on the phonics already established in KS1. This will be practised in specific sessions during the school day. The spelling rule and sound of the week will be shared on Google Classroom so you can practise with your child at home if you would like to.

Home Learning
Reading - Reading diaries are to be handed in every Friday. morning. Please read with your child at least five times a week.
English - 30 minutes of Doodle English
Maths - 30 minutes of Doodle Maths and number facts/ times tables to learn.
Vocabulary - You may wish to discuss the key vocabulary used in each area of learning too. Click here to see all year groups vocabulary as you may want to check their confidence and understanding from previous year groups too.
PE
Your child will need the correct P.E kit: red shorts/ black/grey tracksuit bottoms, white t-shirt and trainers/plimsolls.

Assessment
At various points throughout the year, your child will be assessed in order to determine the next steps in their learning. This may take a range of forms including termly assessment tests, informal quizzes, listening to reading, independent writing and many more.
