The following sessions are provided to our TEKS RS subscribers free of charge. They are intended to provide participants with deep dives into the TEKS Resource System, its components and the many resources. Some sessions may require participants to access sites such as I-TRS. Virtual Manipulatives - Algebra Tiles (6-12) | Participants will navigate the virtual manipulatives in TEKS RS for math. We will dive in depth through the algebra tiles presentation to model the teaching with the resource. We will also use the concrete tiles to model a conceptually balanced approach to secondary math. TEKS RS+HQIM: Preparing to Teach a Math Unit (K-5) | In this session, participants will preview the backwards lesson planning design. Learn how to use TRS components to prepare for a unit of study or module in their HQIM. Discussions will be centered around the Performance Assessments and the Enhanced TEKS Clarification Document (ETCD) to understand the requirements and depth of the standards. Participants will experience doing the math for an upcoming unit/module through the Concrete-Representational-Abstract (CRS) approach. | Fall: 8/29/23 | |
