We were approached by Ann Summers over two years ago to bring their values to life and help pivot brand perception, enabling them to reconnect with a Gen Z audience.

We developed a new Tone of Voice and were instrumental in evolving their creative strategy, delivering a campaign approach that allowed them to showcase their inclusive, empowering and authoritative values across all customer touch points. Highlights include concepting their first TV ad, and our Christmas campaign being voted one of 2022’s best Gen Z focused campaigns.

To support the brand’s period of transformational change, we were tasked with developing a distinctive creative identity system and comprehensive set of guidelines.

Working with the whole team, from C-Suite to Creative, we helped to set a new direction, creating consistency and elevating the Very Fashion & Sport category.

The new toolkit empowered their internal creative teams to make decisions with confidence throughout the creative process and remain agile and flexible in the ever-evolving demands of �a multi-brand retailer.

Following this piece of work, we were further asked to produce recommendations for short term improvements as well as longer-term strategy, enabling the brand to become famous with customers and distinctive within the market. The piece of work included investment and team architecture reviews.

Happy Boy formed from a friendship that began almost fifteen years ago, during the decade we spent at ASOS, helping it to grow from a small online clothing company to one of the biggest players in 20something fashion, globally. ��As Editor-in-Chief (Fran), and Head of Creative, Fashion and Design (Zeba), we helped to set a tone and an aesthetic for the brand that made ASOS more than just a clothing store for the customer. We helped it to become a fashion destination, the fashion and culture defining destination for 20 something customers.��

��Fran brings over 20 years experience as an Editor and journalist to Happy Boy, editing her first music magazine at 25 and going on to work for titles from The Times and The Guardian to Dazed and NYLON. She has helped numerous brands uncover their true voice, connecting them with their audience, and setting them up for lasting success.

Zeba started her career in PR and on national newspaper fashion desks, before moving into the brand world. Throughout her career, she has straddled creativity and strategy. She has both styled celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence, Zoe Kravitz & Taylor Swift and successfully guided brands during periods of transformation, leading them to their most commercially successful periods.
