Events Branding & Architecture: Context

  • ONE Summit name has changed over the years
    • Open Networking to Open Networking and Edge
    • ONS → ONES → ONE Summit
      • ONE Summit not extremely descriptive, shared by other events
      • ONES is offensive in Hebrew
      • SEO considerations
    • Original ONS trademark suite coming up for global renewal, no trademark on current name
    • Technology expansion currently contained in the event name itself – doesn’t scale over time (e.g., Access/RAN, etc.)
  • Event names and brands have proliferated
    • ONEEF, OSN Days, etc.
  • Timing Considerations
    • Prospectus needs to be finalized ASAP (should use brand we intend to use this Fall)
    • With re-launch of new format and LFN management, would be ideal to do this year
  • Proposal: 2 week sprint to address name and branding
    • First meeting this Friday at 8 AM PDT
    • 2-3 times a week for following two weeks
    • Initial proposal on following slides – can discuss in that forum
    • Seeking Volunteers!
