AYSO - 100% VOLUNTEER

Everyone Plays - Balanced Teams - Positive Coaching - Open Registration- Good Sportsmanship - Player Development

Parents, we know you are busy, we’re parents too — we get it, the fact remains, we are an all-volunteer organization, no one is paid– and no one has unlimited time. The only way to keep it running is for you, personally, to help.

You do not need experience. We will train you and give you the tools and support you need. Whether you volunteer for your team, division, region or board, we need your help and support.

  • AYSO IS AN ALL VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION
  • NO VOLUNTEERS / BOARD OR STAFF GET PAID
  • THE BOARD DOES NOT GET DISCOUNTS FOR BEING BOARD/STAFF

I HAVE MY TEAM – NOW WHAT?

PLAYER REGISTRATION FORMS - MEDICAL RELEASE

  • Contains the emergency medical release information, must be with the team at all practices, games, and team activities.
  • It is a good idea to make an extra copy of each player’s form; keep one set for the coach, the assistant coach, and team parent. If there are no medical release forms at the fields – there will be NO practice, NO game.
  • Recruit team volunteers (Team Manager, Referees)

REFEREES

A little about referee needs and support from each team

  • Beginning in 7U and 8U, each match will need one Referee (the one with the whistle in the "center"). Each 7U/8U team should have 1-2 (maybe 3) certified referees. When you combine volunteers from both teams, you have 2-6 people who could officiate the match. This is a great age to start refereeing.

REFEREES - Continued

  • As players move up to 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, and 19U each match will be officiated with a 3-person referee crew that consists of a Referee and two Assistant Referees (or ARs, who assist the referee along the touchline, or sideline, and are the ones holding the flag). Each team should have 3-4 (maybe 5) certified referees. This way, you have 6-10 people who could officiate the match when you combine the volunteers from both teams.
