Student Google Account

Clever

All students are given access to a Google account created by the IT department. Below you will find the username format, default password, and where to sign in:

1. Access: accounts.google.com, or for quick access to a specific service, mail.google.com, drive.google.com etc. *This is also the account used to sign into student Chromebooks*

2. Username format: firstname_lastname@student.davincischools.org

3. Student Password: Monalisa1 (reset password to something secure)

  • **This is a shared password between you and your student–please use a password that you both will be able to access, as the PW is needed for both home access and access while students are on campus**

4. If your student does not have access to a device at home and requires one for homeschool learning, you may request to borrow a school chromebook to use at home for the year HERE

Some of your curriculum resources are accessible via a Single Sign On system called Clever. In order to access your students clever account:

  1. Sign into your student’s Da Vinci Schools Google Chrome account (using the instructions to the left)
  2. This will auto-sign into your student’s Clever Account which will appear as a folder labeled “curriculum” in the top left of the bookmarks bar
  3. Choose the curriculum you’d like to explore!

Student Canvas Account

Parent Access to Canvas

Canvas is where all classroom information, learning logs, resources, calendar, family directory, and weekly updates from teachers are shared /stored. While it is a student account, it should be considered a “family platform” and grownups should be checking Canvas at least weekly!

1. Sign in to student google chrome account

2. Click this LINK **Please bookmark this page by either clicking Ctrl+D or clicking the little star emblem in your search bar at the top right corner of the browser.

3. Additional Resources:

Please do not use pairing code or link to become an observer of your student’s Canvas page. Remember that this is a family platform and grownups should be logging in to Canvas (at least weekly!) through their student’s account!

If you would like to have easy access to your student’s account on your phone (watch this screen recording if you get stuck):

1. Download Canvas app on your phone

3. Press “Find your school” (Da Vinci Schools)

4. Input student email and password

6. Your child’s account will populate onto the Canvas phone app

HomeSchool Curriculum

We aim to work in partnership with all our families to meet their homeschool needs. We provide a variety of homeschool curriculum resources so that families have voice and choice in how they build their homeschool toolkits. THIS LINK provides all the curriculum options available to families by grade level. Families are free to choose from our list OR use their own preferred secular curriculum. As a reminder, families are responsible for instruction in reading, writing and math on their homeschool days.

If you are new to homeschooling, or looking to calibrate your plan against another example, below are links to sample homeschool schedules for each Core, curated by teachers using the recommended curriculum options from the choice menu:

For a glance at the standards in friendlier terms and what it looks like in action- please explore this link. (password: DVConnect2021)

If you feel that you cannot provide a consistent homeschool space, routine, supervision and instructional support, please contact Nydia Ochoa to discuss options: nochoa@davincischools.org

Learning Logs

Families are required to log their homeschool learning in reading, writing, and math and submit evidence of work (1 sample for each subject) every few weeks via “Learning Logs”. Learning Log completion and submission is a high stakes requirement that is audited by the state of CA each year and is directly connected to funding that keeps our school open. Below is everything you need to successfully complete and submit Learning Logs this year:

A helpful checklist to review before submission to avoid non-compliance

Frequently Asked Questions on how to properly complete and submit a Learning Log

A screen recording to demonstrate how to submit a Learning Log via the Canvas website from a computer

A screen recording to demonstrate how to submit a Learning Log via the Canvas App on a mobile device
