Use the Log in GOOGLE CLASSROOM Document each STEP!

Tips for Creating a Log:

  • For Kindergarten & First grade, parents may write some parts and students may write other parts. Alternating is a good method for this age group.
  • If you go to store/ or someone assists you, write down where you went, whom you spoke to, what you asked, and their response
  • Come up with as many ideas as possible!
  • Check to see if your idea exists - if it does, make it better!
  • Date each entry
  • Take photos as you progress through the invention process & upload to your log.
  • Scan/ take picture of all of your sketches & drawings.
  • Record your expenses

The Invention Log is not a book report that is created after you are done. Rather, it is a diary that is continuously filled in as you work on your invention. Follow the steps of the invention process and fill out the various pages as you work on them. When you are done with a page, put the date in the top right corner. If you need extra space for any section, add blank slides and use them for any purpose.

This log will also be used as part of the final presentation and needs to be filled in using complete sentences (except for things like a list of materials). Teams share one Invention Log and should attach signatures of all inventors.
