King Fernando of Berbania becomes unwell following a troubling dream concerning his youngest son, Don Juan.
In the dream, Don Juan is murdered
and cast into a deep well.

The King later sent his second son, Don Diego, only to encounter the same fate.
King Fernando sent his eldest son, Don Pedro, to Mount Tabor with the task of locating the bird perched on the Piedras Platas tree.
However, upon hearing the magical song of the bird, the prince drifted into slumber and turned into stone.
He discovered his brothers transformed into stone and rescued them. However, on their way back home, Don Pedro and Don Diego ambushed Don Juan, leaving him unconscious, while they took the Adarna bird back home.
Then, King Fernando sent his favorite son, Don Juan, assisted by a wise elderly man, to capture the bird and bring his brothers back to life. Unfortunately, his brothers later betrayed him.
Despite the betrayal, Don Juan rescues his brothers once again in Armenia and encounters two princesses, Donya Juana and Donya Leonora. His adventure leads him to the kingdom of Reino de Los Cristales and Donya Maria Blanca.
In order to win her love, he completes several challenging tasks set by her father, King Salarmo. Despite successfully fulfilling them all, the King tricked him in the end. Maria Blanca discovered the truth and fled with Don Juan.
However, the King cast a curse on Don Juan causing him to forget Maria Blanca
and turn against her.
Back in Berbania, Don Juan, with
erased memory of Maria Blanca,
falls in love with Donya Leonora.
Even though Maria Blanca tries to remind him of their past, he stays loyal to Leonora until his memory returns.
After expressing remorse for his infidelity, Don Juan promises everlasting loyalty.
In the end, the kingdom of Berbania is bestowed upon Don Diego and Donya Leonora, as Don Juan and Maria Blanca rule over Reino de Los Cristales.
