Are you ready to create a prototype of your idea for a solution?

Prototypes are meant to be imperfect. They are just a way to help you, as the inventor, communicate your ideas to others in order to get feedback.

Let’s read a story about an idea that may help you develop a rough prototype with confidence.

Step 1, Prototype (15 min):

Step 2, Test (10 min):

  • Partner with 1 other team.
  • Each team takes 3 minutes to describe their prototype to the other team. Then, the other team takes 2 minutes to provide feedback.
  • Quality Feedback Tips:
    • Start with a positive! What do you love about the design?
    • Ask questions like: Tell me more about … or How does this piece work?
    • Give feedback that is actionable. What advice can you give the team that they can act upon?

What did you learn today about designing for change?

  • What are the benefits of getting feedback from many people?
  • What did you learn in your feedback sessions?
  • Did anyone notice someone really practicing one of the qualities of changemakers today? Would you offer a compliment to that person? “I noticed _______ being _______ today when they __________.”
