Approval of Minutes

At the start of each meeting in future, we need to approve the last meeting’s “Meeting Minutes.”

A member says: “I move to approve the m-d-yy Meeting Minutes.”

Another member says: “I second.”

The chair says: “It is moved and seconded to approve the m-d-yy minutes.”

Then, we vote. If we get majority “Ayes” then we can be done with the Meeting Minutes.

This is also the process for any time we vote on something (like spending)

How Have We Spent the Fun Run Money In The Past?

In the past, we took a lump sum, and gave each specialist teacher $1,000 and distributed the remainder among all the teachers based on # of students they had.

Last year, each student is allocated $36, and a total of $40,000 was distributed.

13 of 33

This Year - Keep the Same Methodology in General

We’d like to offer $45/student this year to each classroom teacher. (last year was $36)

Upon consultation with school, allocate fund to each specialist teacher as shown in the table.

Total Cost: $56,845

Result Comparison & Survey!

Last year, with 942 students, Fun Run raised $76/student and PTO kept $52/student (68%)*

This year, there are 1093 students. Fun Run raised $75/student and PTO kept $56/student (75%).

* Boosterthon commission was 33.3%. PTO received about $3k donation directly (not via Boosterthon) so was able to keep the full $3k, increasing the amount kept % from 66.6% to 68%.

Have ideas to share? We will send out a survey to get feedback in the next month!

Consider joining our planning committee or volunteer to help with the event next year!

Bringhurst Club Updates

Eight clubs listed on PTO website.

Code Club - Scratch Junior Club starting 2025 - 17 spots filled up within 3 hours of announcement. Separate class can be organized if there are parent volunteers.

PTO actively encourages and supports volunteer parents to form parent-led clubs. If you or anyone you know is enthusiastic about leading a new club, please contact PTO Club Coordinator to assist you to making that happen. This is a wonderful chance to create new opportunities for our students and foster their passions.
