Employment Opportunity: Sanger Learning Center Student Educator
The Sanger Learning Center is hiring student educators for Spring 2024!
They are among the largest student employers on campus and pay some of the highest student wages. Working at Sanger provides valuable work experience on a flexible schedule while helping other students achieve their goals. Skills developed and implemented by student educators at Sanger include peer-to-peer content tutoring and study group facilitation.
For those interested, we highly encourage you to attend their SLC Job Fair (HAPPENING TOMORROW)! You’ll be able to meet current student educators, the staff members leading their teams, and ask as many questions as they’d like while snacking on free bagels, coffee, and fruit.
SLC Job Fair:
October 26th| 10:30am-12pm (drop-in anytime) | JES A309 (third floor of Jester Center)
Applications close for our tutoring position on November 5th, and our SI Leader position will open in mid-October and close in mid-November.
Application Details:
St. David’s Medical Center College Volunteer Program
The St. David’s Medical Center College Volunteer Program gives students a unique opportunity to experience a healthcare setting while gaining personal satisfaction through helping others. Student volunteers work in departments throughout the hospital and make a lasting impression on our patients, visitors, and staff.
All new student volunteers will spend a semester volunteering in our Atrium Gift Shop, Main Lobby Information Desk or Volunteer Desk. After your first semester, you may choose from over 25 clinical and non-clinical departments. Weekend and evening shifts are available, but are limited. Students are asked to commit to a minimum of two semesters and 40 hours of volunteer service per semester (3-4 hours per week).
For those interested, the very first step in the application process is the online application form.
The Spring 2024 Application Cycle will close on November 17, 2023, at which point ALL paperwork must be submitted. The program will NOT consider late applications/packets.
Application Form:
Networking Event: CNS Connections
Hosted by UT’s Natural Sciences Council (NSC), CNS Connections will give undergraduate students in the College of Natural Sciences the chance to network with companies in the Austin area that specialize in fields such as biotechnology, health care, business, computer science, and non-profit work, among others.
This is a great opportunity for students to interact with company representatives, build connections, and receive career advice that will set them on the path to achieving their professional goals.
This year, CNS Connections will take place on Wednesday, November 1st, 2023, from 6 - 8 PM at the William C. Powers Student Activity Center, Jr. Ballroom (2.410). Come out to connect with company representatives and expand your professional network! The attire is business casual, and refreshments will be provided.
We highly encourage all of our members to take advantage of this opportunity! In addition, attending this networking event (being a CNS student is NOT required) will earn you 1 Professional Development Point!
Event RSVP Form:

Introduction
Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun and the smallest one in the Solar System—it’s only a bit larger than our Moon. The planet’s name has nothing to do with the liquid metal since it was named after the Roman messenger god, Mercury
