Hi! My name is Ms. Brown and I’m a San Diego native. My older brother attended CPMA back when it was called Kroc Middle School! This is my 4th year at CPMA and 10th year in the district. I graduated from San Diego State University (Bachelors) and California State University Long Beach (Masters) with studies in Communicative Disorders/Speech Language Pathology.
I love being a Speech Language Pathologist, helping students grow their speech/language/communication systems, creating inclusive environments, and collaborating/consulting with other professionals and families.
When I am not engaging in school biz, you can find me reading, playing with my preschooler and puppy, and traveling (when allowed)! Some of my major travels include France, Spain, Portugal, Fiji, Costa Rica, and Switzerland!
ABOUT
ME
Hi there! My name is Ms. Meissner and I use she/her pronouns. I’ve lived in San Diego since I was 12. This is my 2nd year at CPMA and 13th year in the district. I also work at Mission Bay High School one day per week. I graduated from UC Davis (Bachelors in Psychology) and San Diego State University (Masters) with studies in Communicative Disorders/Speech Language Pathology.
I love being a Speech Language Pathologist, helping students access their education with improved communication, making sure students feel seen for who they are at school, and collaborating with teachers, students, and families to support each kid’s unique needs.
When I am not zooming or working, I am often hanging out with my 3 kids who keep me on my toes! I have twin 7 year-olds and a 9 year-old. I love to read, paint, and travel to the beach in any spare moments that I can!
SLP
SLP Roles During DL
Speech/Language Pathologists will engage in a variety of live and indirect services including consultation. They will engage in a variety of professional development opportunities. They are providing families with strategies for building language during daily routines, language targets to embed during their day. SLPs will consult with parents on articulation, fluency, and AAC and assistive technology needs. They will support creation of visual schedules and functional activities. They will provide video support (modeling of language strategies, shared reading tips) and partner with general education teachers and educational specialists to support students.
