  1. For Temperature vs. Time and Energy vs. Time, the almost full kettle (more water) had a smaller slope than the kettle with less water. So, an increase in the mass of water causes a decrease in slope, because it takes longer and more energy to heat more water. The specific heat capacity for water in the larger kettle was closer to the correct number, than the smaller kettle. The larger kettle has a percent difference of 8.6%, but the smaller kettle has a percent difference of 16.5%. This discrepancy can be accounted for by the chance that the Kill-a-Watt meter only measured to 2 decimal places so it did not have extra decimals for accuracy.
  2. The light roast had a more sour flavor than the dark roast. While both roasts had acidic flavors the dark roast’s bitter flavor was more prominent than the dark roasts sour flavor. The coffee from Clever Coffee Dripper tastes the same as the coffee from the Mr.Coffee.
  3. In the popcorn roaster, the first crack was as 4:20 mins, but for the Fresh Roast, first crack was at 4 mins. However, as a class, we did not do the second roast with the popcorn roaster to see the temperature at which the first crack. occurred.
  4. The popcorn roaster used more energy than the fresh roaster.
