How to be an great perspective taker during disagreements:

If you disagree with someone, it is important to consider their perspective:

  1. Look at the person - pay attention to what they are saying
  2. Use a calm, pleasant voice
  3. Use an empathy statement
    1. Show that you are trying to understand how they feel
  4. Tell why you feel differently and give a reason
  5. Listen - show respect for what the other person has to say and consider their opinion
    • Don’t interrupt, stay calm, and don’t argue… just listen
