Mission: Ephesus Elementary will serve each unique student by building strong relationships in order to provide high quality instruction in an inclusive, equitable and safe environment.

Vision: Ephesus will lead students to be confident, lifelong learners ready to make positive impacts in their communities.

Values: All students deserve a quality education. All school staff will work together to ensure students' academic, social and emotional needs are met through purposeful instruction and support.

  • Creating a Culture of Safety and Wellness School Culture Goal: A4.06: ALL teachers are attentive to students' emotional states, guide students in managing their emotions, and arrange for supports and interventions when necessary.

Celebrations and Growth Opportunities

SWD increased slightly in overall reading proficiency as did our EDS students

Black, LatinX and EDS students all showed an increase in proficiency for math in the 23-24 school year

mClass proficiency data in K-2 showed that 84% of students were green or blue on their composite at EOY (as compared to only 62% proficient at BOY)

TWC data showed that 97% of staff feel that Ephesus is a good place to work and learn. 90% of teachers feel that they are an important part of the school and are proud to work at Ephesus.

97% of staff feel that students follow school rules and 100% feel that we have a clearly establish positive behavior intervention and support system.

Black students did NOT meet growth as determined by EVAAS, despite the increase in proficiency.

Students with disabilities did not meet growth a determined by EVAAS.

Overall growth was below zero in all areas which indicates a core level problem across grades 3-5.

Only 69% of staff feel that we set a clear vision for Ephesus and a clear vision for instruction.

67% of staff feel they do not have a say in the types of professional development they can attend and 41% of teachers feel as those it is appropriately differentiated.

Reading Goals:

  • All students will increase reading proficiency from 63.5 percent to 70% by the end of the 24-25 school year as measured by the end of grade assessment.
    • All black students will increase reading proficiency from 20% to 25% by the end of the 24-25 school year as measured by the end of grade assessment.
    • All latinx students will increase reading proficiency from 41.7% to 45% by the end of the 24-25 school year as measured by the end of grade assessment.
    • All students with disabilities will increase reading proficiency from 16.7% to 20% by the end of the 24-25 school year as measured by the end of grade assessment.
    • All economically disadvantaged students will increase reading proficiency from 29.8% to 32.3% by the end of the 24-25 school year as measured by the end of grade assessment.

Math Goals:

  • All students will increase math proficiency from 70.8 percent to 75% by the end of the 24-25 school year as measured by the end of grade assessment.
    • All black students will increase math proficiency from 33.3% to 40% by the end of the 24-25 school year as measured by the end of grade assessment.
    • All latinx students will increase math proficiency from 54.2% to 59% by the end of the 24-25 school year as measured by the end of grade assessment.
    • All students with disabilities will increase math proficiency from 12.5% to 16.3% by the end of the 24-25 school year as measured by the end of grade assessment.
    • All economically disadvantaged students will increase math proficiency from 42.1% to 45.9% by the end of the 24-25 school year as measured by the end of grade assessment.

Creating a Culture of Safety and Wellness:

School Culture Goal: C2.03: The LEA/School provides all staff high quality, ongoing, job-embedded, and differentiated professional development.

A4.16: The school develops and implements consistent, intentional, and on-going plans to support student transitions for grade-to-grade and level-to-level.

  • Attendance Goal: Ephesus will reduce chronic absenteeism by 2.5%, reducing the percentage from 11.4% to 8.9%

Strengthening Family and Community Engagement E1.06: The school regularly communicates with parents/guardians about its expectations of them and the importance of the curriculum of the home (what parents can do at home to support their children's learning). Four family engagement events are done each year that encompass curriculum, learning and culture (Core Night, Family Ball, Family Culture Night, STEAM Night)

Title I Information(Title I Schools Only)

Ephesus uses funds from Title 1 to:

  • Fund the use of a full time interventionist for reading
  • Additional funds are used to provide subs for teachers to engage in professional development and additional planning sessions for differentiation
  • Title 1 funds are used to engage the community through the newly established CORE night, family culture night and STEAM night.
