Hello, Campbell Union School District Families!
Your child participated in our AIM (Arts, Innovation and Music) classes this week at school. Artists focused on Collaboration by creating sea creatures that will all come together for the end of the year showcase. They were challenged to incorporate cool colors and add in texture to make their pieces more interesting and realistic.
Innovators were introduced to Micro:bit which is a programmable device that helps you learn about inputs and outputs. They worked on Critical Thinking by finding information and using it to code their Micro:bits to animate a flashing heart.
Musicians continued their work on pitch with an emphasis on Critical Thinking. They learned about melody and how pitch is connected to reading sheet music. They also tried to create familiar melodies using instruments and Chrome Music Lab. Challenge your student to write their own melody. Holiday Window Gel Clings
Materials
Bring 4 cups of water to a boil and add gelatin. Stir the mixture until all the gelatin is dissolved. Spoon out any bubbles that rise to the surface. Carefully pour the gelatin mixture into the baking sheet and remove any bubbles.
Wait until the mixture is cool enough to work with, about 10 minutes, and have students use food coloring, glitter, and toothpicks to mix and decorate the gelatin.
When it’s set, use cookie cutters to cut holiday window gel clings.
If they’re not sticking, leave them out overnight to continue to dehydrate and try again in the morning. Repeat again if necessary. Enjoy your innovative holiday decorations!

Su hijo participó en nuestras clases de AIM (Arte, Innovación y Música) esta semana en la escuela. Los artistas se centraron en la colaboración creando criaturas marinas que se unirán para la exhibición de fin de año. Se les retó a incorporar colores fríos y agregar texturas para hacer sus piezas más interesantes y realistas.
Los innovadores conocieron Micro:bit, que es un dispositivo programable que le ayuda a aprender sobre entradas y salidas. Trabajaron en el pensamiento crítico encontrando información y usándola para codificar sus Micro:bits para animar un corazón parpadeante.
Los músicos continuaron su trabajo en el tono con énfasis en el Pensamiento Crítico. Aprendieron sobre la melodía y cómo se relaciona el tono con la lectura de partituras. También intentaron crear melodías familiares utilizando instrumentos y Chrome Music Lab. Adhesivos de gel para ventanas navideñas
Materiales
Ponga a hervir 4 tazas de agua y agregue la gelatina. Revuelve la mezcla hasta que se disuelva toda la gelatina. Retire con una cuchara las burbujas que suban a la superficie. Vierta con cuidado la mezcla de gelatina en la bandeja para hornear y elimine las burbujas.
Espere hasta que la mezcla esté lo suficientemente fría para trabajar con ella, aproximadamente 10 minutos, y pida a los estudiantes que usen colorante para alimentos, la escarcha y los palillos de dientes para mezclar y decorar la gelatina.
Cuando esté listo, use cortadores de galletas para cortar las pegatinas de gelatina y pegarlas en las ventanas.
