Ms. Manjima Chatterjee, CBSE Resource Person
Together We Rise
Ms. Manjima Chatterjee is an educator, playwright and writer whose work blends
storytelling, activism, and pedagogy. As a playwright, her original work has been
performed at the Edinburgh Fringe, the BBC International Radio Playwriting
Competition, and the Chicago Puppet Festival, among others. She is a recipient of The
Hindu Playwright Award and her writing has been widely published and anthologized. In
parallel with her creative practice, Manjima has led innovative arts-in-education
programs as the Central Arts Lead. Trained in drama-in-education under Maya
Krishna Rao, Manjima's approach centres on using theatre and the arts to cultivate
empathy, creativity, and justice—both in classrooms and communities. She has
addressed Sahodaya gatherings, IC3 sessions and conducted workshops for school
leaders and teachers in the arts-in-education space for over a decade. She continues to
collaborate with global arts organisations, and advocate for integrated, experience-
based learning that touches the head and the heart.
