Introduction

In this presentation we are going to talk about Marina and the diamonds, Dorian Gray , and we will see in which they are connected. We are going to use some examples from the novel.

Marina and The Diamonds

This song talks about the savages of the world and how people are destroying the world with evil actions. Everyday a lot of people die because of those evil actions and we don’t find a solution. Nowadays everyone can get a bomb, a gun and we don’t do anything to stop this.

What happened with Dorian Gray

In the novel , Dorian Gray changed a lot, he started like a humble man and all his life was around his friends. But suddenly, he became a terrible man who didn’t care about people’s feelings, he only cared about himself.

What relation do they have?

In our opinion, the song talks about badness and cruelty , the same feelings than those of Dorian Gray, people all over the world kill or commit crimes without any consideration about the people who die, their feelings or their families.

  • You killed my love, said Dorian.
  • I loved you because you were marvellous. You had genius and intellect. Now i see that you are shallow and stupid [...]

Dorian meets sybil after the play at the Theatre and he starts to be evil and mad. This destroys Sybil and she commits suicide.

Conclusion

We have seen similarities between the song by “Marina and the Diamonds” and the novel “The picture of Dorian Gray”. All this could also be connected to the World right now with the bombs , a lot of people are being killed and this Chaos is destroying us.
