ART SUMMER
TRANSITION WORK
The Human Figure
A LEVEL
YOUR TASK
TASK 1:
Choose two artists who have created work with human figures/portraits that you have not looked at before. One must be a more traditional older artist (before 1940s with a wikipedia page) & the other a modern/contemporary artist. To do this use books and/or online research to gather your information. Create a presentation on these two artists and tell us why and how these artists inspire you. This can be presented as a Google Slides, creative display, creative mood board, a piece of creative writing … it is up to you but should roughly be a 5 minute presentation. This will be used in the first weeks of your A Level to present to the rest of the group.
TASK 2:
Produce 2 pieces of artwork (minimum A4 size each) in your chosen media using the artists’ work as an inspiring starting point.
These could be 2D or 3D pieces of work
Extra:
If you can go to a gallery or museum, take photos and tell us all about it!
