The assignment (N5 and H)
A 6 hour practical task which will be completed during February and March. N5 hand in is early March and H hand in is late March. Deadlines to be confirmed shortly.
It is completed in class time.
Focuses on Software Design and Development (25 marks) and Database Design and Development (15 marks)
The project (AH)
A practical project focusing on Software Design and Development, Database Design and Development or Web Design and Development with integration of one of the other topics.
Pupils pick their own project brief in discussion with their class teacher.
Will start late September with a hand in date of late March. Exact timings to be confirmed.

Timings:
N5: 1 hour 30 minutes
H and AH: 2 hours

Students answer questions focusing on Software Design and Development and Computer Systems (55 marks)
Section 2
Students complete questions focusing on Database Design and Development (25 marks)

Students complete questions focusing on either Database Design and Development or Web Design and Development (20 marks)
How to be successful in Computing �Science
Structured and regular revision to consolidate your knowledge.
Regular attempts at SQA past paper questions.
Attend study support at lunchtime/afterschool.
Download Python and XAMPP/MS Access to use at home. Pupils can use computers in the department at lunchtime/free periods if they would like somewhere to work.
