Mission and Vision

Our mission at Phoenix Academy is to provide all students with a structured

& cooperative environment that promotes academic achievement and

personal motivation, and renews active participation in the educational

process, so that students might transition more successfully to future

postsecondary and career opportunities, and lead well-balanced lives

within our broader community.

Goal Area 1: Instructional Excellence:Preparing Students for Life

  • Reading Goal:

Increase mastery levels in reading for all students by an average of at least one grade level during the 2024-2025 SY, per IXL benchmarks and metrics;

  • Math Goal:

Increase student mastery levels in math for all students by an average of at least one grade level during the 2024-2025 SY, per IXL benchmarks and metrics;

  • Multi-Language Learner Acquisition Goal:

Increase MLL student overall composite scale scores by ~5% in the 2024-2025 SY, per ACCESS metrics.

Decrease “Office Referrals” in Educator’s Handbook by 15% (51 referrals), compared to 2023-2024 discipline data (60 referrals); there were no significant discipline disproportionalities in the data during the 2023-2024 school year.

  • School Culture Goal

​

Improve % of students with “excellent” attendance, per Panorama metrics, by 13% by the end of the 2024-2025 SY.

  • A Growth Opportunity is to continue Trauma-Informed professional development, especially with new staff having joined us at Phoenix Academy since meeting this SIP goal.

2024 Quarter 1 Progress Toward School Improvement Goals

  • We are well on our way to meeting our Reduction of Discipline Referrals Goal for the year; we

only have 3 Office Referrals to date for the 2024-2025 SY.

  • Our Fall 2024 Panorama student survey data point to some excellent progress regarding our

School Culture & Climate, and Social-Emotional well-being, at Phoenix Academy High School:

“School Safety” was rated in the top 1% of all surveyed US schools;

“School Climate” was rated in the top 1% of all US high schools;

“Sense of Belonging,” a focus, was also rated in the top 1% of US high schools.
