Why Did Nathan And Danny Want to Do a Starfish dissection

The main reasons we want to do this are:

  • To see how starfish work
  • To understand their anatomy
  • Starfish are really interesting

  • There are about 2,000 species of starfishes
  • Some live in the intertidal zone some in deep water some in tropical areas,some in cold water
  • When a starfish loses its arm they can generate a new arm

  • Starfishes skin may feel leathery or slightly prickly and starfish have a tough covering on their upper side
  • Starfish do not have blood; instead they have water vascular system
  • Starfish move using hundreds of tube feet which are located on their underside so they can walk
