Things to Know…

  • If interested in a TEC/PCC program, you must meet with your high school counselor, and turn in the correct applications and forms by the scheduled due date.
    • Students must complete a KCKCC online Application for Admission and a Technical Education Center Dual-Credit Enrollment Form.
  • Certain programs have a required Accuplacer reading score in order to enroll: Cosmetology, Nail Tech, Electrical and Health Careers.
  • Continuation of enrollment for the spring semester may be denied if the KCKCC grade point average drops below a 2.00 cumulative G.P.A. or an unsatisfactory grade is earned in a required pre-requisite course.
  • Most programs require students to pass safety tests to work in lab area.

Automotive Collision Repair

PROGRAM SPECS

The program uses the latest equipment, including the Blackhawk multi-tower 3000 frame alignment system and a Chief E-Z Liner Frame Machine. In addition, the classroom has two of the latest Global Paint booths. Students will have the opportunity to earn I-Car certificates in paint and refinishing, along with welding certification in collision repair steel and aluminum.

To train students as future employees in the use of personal computers, including operating system, hardware, basic networking, and network/server skills sets. CompTIA A+, Network+ and Server+ are three industry certifications students are encouraged to prepare for upon completion.

Cybersecurity

The Cybersecurity certificate prepares students with the entry-level knowledge needed to protect cyberspace against physical and cyber threats. This certificate is designed to enable students to transition to the Cybersecurity AS degree and easily transfer to a college or university offering a bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity.

Heating & Refrigeration Technology

PROGRAM SPECS

HVAC training is comprised –

    • Heating Systems
    • Ventilation
    • Air conditioning and refrigeration

Fundamentals are emphasized, along with specific studies in central and room systems. Silver brazing, electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, and sheet metal techniques are also practiced. The program is approved for EPA and R-401A refrigerant certification.
