How many apps are learners using in a week?

Clarity – teachers, learners and families clear on why these skills are being learned and used (metcognition) and also clear what the skills are: NOT CONFLATIGN WITH CREATIVITY or coding etc

Cognitive load – be clearer about what THE LEARNING IS: making powerpoints about Romans? Ensure they know powerpoint or romans before introducing the other aspect Reduced cognitive load (TES/EEF, 2023)

Reduced choice overload – how many different apps and tools are you/the school asking them to use in a day/week? Are you using multiple versions of a similar tool: PowerPoint, Slides, Sway and Presi? What impact? Reduced choice overload (Beymer and Thomson, 2015) �A larger variety of activities may be offered if students have a prior

preference that can be used as a reference; however, if students have no prefer-

ence, a smaller variety should be used. Students are likely to produce higher

quality work when choosing from a smaller set
