Project Goals

�CareConnect

Goal: create an innovative platform connecting non-profit organizations (NPOs) with volunteers to assist elderly individuals and other vulnerable groups, such as disabled individuals and veterans.

MVPs:

  • User registration with role selection (NPO or volunteer).
  • Profile creation and management for both NPOs and volunteers.
  • NPOs can create and manage assistance requests.
  • Volunteers can browse and apply for requests.
  • NPOs can process received responses to their requests from volunteers.

3. Project Management details

  • Tool Used: Jira – We utilized Jira for task management and project tracking.

​

  • Sprint Structure – The project was divided into 4 sprints, each spanning 2 weeks.

​

Future Iterations

​

  • Favorites for Volunteers: Volunteers can save organizations they’ve worked with or wish to support, displayed in a new My Favorites section for easy access.

​

  • Favorites for Organizations: Organizations can create a list of top volunteers to strengthen relationships with their trusted network.

​

  • Integrated Chat System: An in-app chat feature will enable seamless communication and collaboration between volunteers and organizations.

Challenges and their Solutions

What were the challenges you faced, how did you overcome?

​

Coordinating Across Different Time Zones: Working with team members in various time zones required careful planning and effective time management.

​

Necessity for Clear Communication: To avoid misunderstandings and ensure everyone stayed on the same page, we emphasized clear and consistent communication.

​

Need for Adaptable Scheduling: We maintained flexible schedules to accommodate holidays and individual commitments, which helped us keep the project on track.
