Short Vowel Sound Reminders (with vowel “tents”)

A, hand below chin but not touching. In order to make the short a, you must lower your jaw.

E, take your forefinger and thumb at the sides of the mouth. Make your mouth smile.

I, push your finger to scrunch up your nose. “Icky!”

O, make a circle around your mouth (saying “ah”)

U, place your fist at your abdomen, uh!
