PSAT Prep

2 of 12

Save The Date

All 10th graders will take the PSAT on Wednesday, October 12th

  • Yes, this is the same day as the CTE Fair Day.
  • We will not force you to stay for the PSAT.
  • This is the one and only time the PSAT will be offered on campus. Campbell ISD is covering the cost. If you choose not to take it now and opt to take it on your own later, you will have to pay for the test on your own. The cost is $18.
  • If you are planning to going to college, this test is really important.

Purposes of the psat

  • You can get a good sense of your future SAT score. One benefit of the PSAT is that it will give you an idea of what score you can expect to get on the SAT. It will also show you where your strengths and weaknesses lie.

  • You can target areas you need to practice for the SAT. Like the SAT, the PSAT tests break down your score into a variety of sub-scores, such as Words in Context, Command of Evidence, and Passport to Advanced Math.

  • Maximizing your PSAT score has benefits. The PSAT is also the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test for Juniors. Its results are used to assign each student a Selection Index score.
