How is my grade calculated?
Agriculture: In this class you will learn about science and agriculture. All students will work outdoors in the school garden and landscape areas. All students will learn the proper way to use gardening and construction tools and care for plants.
FFA Membership: Being enrolled in an Ag class automatically makes you a member of the Holtville FFA Chapter. There will be opportunities during the school year to go on field trips and attend events. FFA participation is required and part of your grade. You must have 3 FFA credits per quarter throughout the year.
Exploratory Agriculture
*Extra Credit can be earned throughout
the year with additional FFA Credits
Classroom Expectations
Computers:
Students will be given access to laptop computers for the purpose of research, projects and class assignments. Computer use is a privilege and students are expected to handle and use the device properly and appropriately for the task required.
Students will need access to their computers to update record books (AET) and access the Google Classroom - dxodqob
Attendance: It is the responsibility of the student (you) to make up missed notes and assignments. You will need to check the class calendar/assignment planner for missing assignments.
Late Work: Late work will NOT be accepted unless the student has an excused absence or has made prior arrangements with the instructor. �
Homework: I do not normally assign homework. However, any work not completed in class, can/should be completed at home. It is recommended that students look at CDE/LDE Resources at home in addition to the classroom.
Cheating and plagiarizing (claiming the work of others) will not be tolerated and results in a zero score.

80-89% ~ B
70-79% ~ C
60-69% ~ D
59% - Lower ~ F

Behavior Expectations
SAFE – Make smart choices to prevent yourself, others or equipment from becoming harmed or damaged. This includes keeping your hands/feet/legs to yourself and not touching others or their property such as backpacks, pencils and papers. Safety is my NUMBER ONE PRIORITY!
ON TIME: - It is important for you to manage your time effectively. YOU are responsible for showing up before
Responsible- Make sure to get to class BEFORE the late bell rings. Turn in your assignments when they are due. You are responsible for your actions, behaviors and successes!
ALWAYS RESPECTFUL – It is important for you to be aware of how you speak to your peers and adults. Do your best to be considerate of others. Raise your hand to be called upon, to speak, or leave your seat. Please take care of the supplies in the classroom and laboratories. Tools and supplies provided by the Holtville Ag. Department should be cared for and utilized in an appropriate manner.
POSITIVE ATTITUDE: - Holtville FFA requires that each of the members follow a strict code of conduct. You should present yourself in a respective, positive manner and develop positive relationships with fellow students, adults and mentors, community leaders and administrators. Come to class each day ready to learn and share your unique and creative ideas with the chapter.
Focused – All electronics must be put away, on silent/off, and out of sight [not in your pocket]. If cell phones are used during class, they will be collected by the teacher and placed in the office until a parent/guardian comes to pick it up.
Food and drinks are NOT allowed during class (unless an exception is made by the instructor for a specific lab) .
