Where this is happening?
-Located in the Pacific Ocean
-There are two garbage patches
Why it’s hard to solve this issue: -Cost -Distance -Effects of photodegradation
What causes this problem?
-The Coriolis Effect is creating a system of circulating events called a Gyre
-The currents in the ocean are converging and accumulating debris
What is happening?
What will happen if nothing is done to fix the
problem?
-Sea turtles, Albatrosses, other aquatic species will go extinct
-Pollution worsens
