1. Confirm His Resurrection
2. Confirm The Body of The Resurrection: without pain, hunger, thirst, etc.
3. To Reward those who showed love to Him

To Confirm His Resurrection

• The Jews alleged that the disciples stole His body
• The Romans did not believe it
• No one raised themselves from death before
• To give hope, peace, and security to the disciples
• To confirm what He told them before

To Confirm The Glorified Body

• A body that goes through locked doors and ascends to Heaven against gravity

• A body that does not get sick, tired, wounded, or sins

• This is our glorified body in The Resurrection!

The Fate of His Enemies

• Annas and Caiaphas:
• Two years later, they were removed from their position and their homes were ransacked

​

• Pontius Pilate:
• Deposed, exiled, and was assassinated by Caesar’s messenger

​

• The Jewish people:
• Around 70 AD, the Romans sieged their city, the people died of starvation, burned down the Temple, and evicted the Jews from Jerusalem

To Respond to Many Rumors

• The Jewish Rumors:
• He did not resurrect, but the disciples stole His body

​

• The atheists' claim:
• Mary Magdalene went to the wrong tomb
• Jesus did not really die but only fainted

​

• Other rumors:
• Someone else was crucified instead of Him
• Judas Iscariot
• Simon of Cyrene

The Disciples Stole His Body

The response

​

• The disciples were afraid and locked in St. Mark’s Upper Room
• Two disciples left Jerusalem to Emmaus
• St. Peter saw the coffin on one side and the handkerchief on another hand
• The disciples became brave after His resurrection
• The disciples made miracles by a mighty Power
• The disciples died as martyrs defending their belief
• The guards did not get any punishment

Mary Went to The Wrong Tomb

The response

• The tomb was an outstanding one for a rich man
• The tomb was secured by a large stone
• The tomb was sealed by The Roman Seal
• No one mistakes their family’s tomb
• Jesus appeared many times to many people at different occasions after His resurrection

“He only fainted and didn’t die on The Cross”

The Response

​

• The Romans made sure He died on The Cross
• The Roman centurion stabbed Him on the right side
• The Roman centurion reported His death to Pontius Pilate
• He was already bleeding from the scourging/flogging before The Crucifixion
• His promise to the right hand thief” “today , you will be with Me in the paradise”
• His last words to The Father “In your hands, I commit my soul” not into Satan hands

“He was not crucified, but someone who looked like Him”

The Response

​

• His mother and the disciples followed Him all the way to Golgotha … how didn’t all of them recognize him?
• The High Priests knew Him and mocked Him on The Cross
• The travelers recognized Him
• Judas, the traitor, hung himself because he felt guilty handing in Jesus

The Resurrection

• Many eyewitness of His apparitions
• Jesus himself prophesized about His death and Resurrection
• Many Old Testament prophecies about His death

• God would be unfair to let an innocent man die on The Cross
• Simeon of Cyrene carried The Cross, but was not crucified
• Simeon of Cyrene and his family believed in Christ and were ministers in The Church of Rome with St. Paul

• Faith = nothing is impossible with God
• Sickness, troubles, overcome sins, etc.

• Power in prayer, ministry, donations, forgiveness, the spiritual life, etc.

• Personal experience = hope and trust

• Every Good Friday will be followed by The Glorious Resurrection
• Every hardship will be followed by a time of peace and happiness
