  • National Social Studies Honors Society

  • Recognizes excellence in social studies (history, psychology, sociology, geography, etc)

Rho Kappa Requirements

Juniors and Seniors Requirements

  • Must have completed or be on track to complete 4 (Juniors) or 5 (Seniors) social studies courses

​

  • These courses must all be Honors or AP level/dual enrollment

​

  • The grade earned in all of these classes must be an A or B

Fees

The fee window will open on September 2nd after we have gone through the applications. They are as follows:

Returning senior members: $8 (for the cord)

New members (seniors): $25 (membership + cord)

New members (juniors): $20 (membership only)

Responsibilities As a Member:

  • 2 out of 3 service projects:
    • Native American Heritage Month-November
    • Black History Month-February
    • Women’s History Month- March
  • Veterans Day thank you cards; 5 are required; 20=1 community service hour
  • Teacher Appreciation Week in May
  • Community Service Hours; 5 per semester
  • May not miss more than 1 meeting
  • Must maintain an A or a B in all classes at ALL times
  • Must meet the district discipline policy
  • Must meet the school attendance policy

Meeting Dates

You are only allowed to miss 1 meeting (excused or unexcused)

Per the club calendar, each club has designated meeting days. Rho Kappa is authorized to meet on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month

April 17th (last meeting for seniors)

December 5th (Holiday Party)
