Nah, if you’re talking about going for a jog or getting on a treadmill. I can’t stand it and I don’t think it’s worth the alleged health benefits. Whenever I feel like exercising, I just lie down and wait for the feeling to pass. I was so happy to hear that it’s bad for your joints because that gave me an excuse not to ever try going for another run and wiped away any health-related guilt I might’ve felt.

2. When was the last time you went for a long run?

I remember pretty well the last time I went for a run, long as I haven’t forgotten any times since then… I was about 22 so must’ve been more than a decade ago. I was hanging out with a friend who was an avid runner – cross country and everything – and I was a good athlete but not a runner. I wanted to show off and thought I could handle it without any training beforehand – I thought I’d be way faster no matter how far we ran. But it was a rude awakening – I gave up halfway through and the experience scarred me enough to put me off running forever.

I guess you mean the marathon and Olympic track and field… I’ve never watched the full telecast of the marathon – I doubt anyone has – I’ve only seen highlights on the news of the runners crossing the finish line. 4. Is your neighborhood a good place for running around?

Yes, it’s ideal in a lot of ways. I come from a small suburb – the roads are pretty empty most of the time so you can run in the street or on the sidewalk. There are a lot of little forests nearby with running trails and a big lake. I never availed myself of the opportunity to go for a run because for me a run is a run – even in a paradise, it’s still exercise.

Ok so a person from history I’m going to talked about today is Leonardo DaVinci. Leonardo DaVinci was the Italian Renaissance polymath whose areas of interest included invention architecture, sculpting, science and there are so many more that I can’t remember them all rightly now. But on general he is a multi-talented man. Um … and he’s also considered one of the greatest painters of all time. And many historians and scholars regard Leonardo DaVinci as a universal genius or a Renaissance man. And among his works the Mona Lisa is the famous and duplicated portrait with ‘The Last Supper’ being the most reproduced religious painting of all the time. And I think one – there was a historian – that I can’t remember the name – once said that “Leonardo DaVinci went beyond his time” – that he could – he could think of inventions that was so advanced that most of his work and designs weren’t feasible during his lifetime, and most of he designs weren’t recognised or realised until 100 years later. And during his time, which was like 500 years ago, he is able to conceptualise the flying machine, armored fighting vehicle and even concentrated solar power. The reason why I admire him was because I think that he – I agreed with all other historians and scholars that he was one of the greatest painters of all time and somehow I think his personality and – his personality was quite mysterious and remote in a way that it has made me more curious to learn more for him.

My voice has always bothered me actually. I think that it is a little too high-pitched and I wish that it was deeper. When I catch a movie, I get a bit jealous of the actors with their strong, gravely voices. But I’m over that now. I’m old enough now to accept the things about myself that I can’t change.

Yeah, naturally, I don’t have a childish voice anymore. Like most people, my voice changed a lot when I went through puberty. That’s when I first became conscious of the way that my voice sounds. I doubt I ever gave it a second thought before it started to break and get a little deeper.

That’s not something I’ve really paid much attention to but, yeah, I guess my brother has more or less the same voice as me. My dad’s voice is quite different, deeper. My mom, of course, has a very different voice. Hers is much softer and gentler, like most women. My grandfather had a really unique voice, very kind and deep.

"Less common lexis", does it refer to the level of a word?

How can you mark students if they remember a speech, or they skip a whole part in Speaking?

If student accent is hard to understand, can I classify it as error or I must try to understand it? For example a candidate with Indian accent, he/she has very strange pronunciation

1. **Catenation Dictogloss**: Read a short passage aloud while emphasizing connected speech in a natural way. Students can only write keywords or draw. Then they retell the passage using their notes. Students can then write the full passage but in chunks with the stressed sounds capitalized.

127 of 351

6. **Word Chain memory Game**: Start with a word and have students say a sentence that includes that word while linking it to the next while standing in a circle passing the phrase to the next student. For example: Yesterday I bought some apples …. and bananas … and a bag of chips

128 of 351

9. **Tongue Twister Chinese Whispers**: Use tongue twisters that require fast, smooth pronunciation. Have students work in teams to say them as quickly and fluidly, passing them to the student at the front of the line who writes it on the board. Then highlight and show visually the catenation.

129 of 351

3. **Role Play with Emotion Dice Game**: Put up 6 emotions 1 - 6 on the board. Students practice simple personal questions and then roll the dice and have to answer the questions using those emotions. Demo a few as a class to show students how to exaggerate the emotions.

130 of 351

4. **Song Analysis**: Choose a song with distinct intonation. Play it, and have students identify the emotional highs and lows in the lyrics. Then, practice singing with appropriate intonation. (Bon Iver)

1. **Running Dictation**: Put a series of sentences from a text outside. One partner reads it, remembers, and comes back in to tell their partner. But their partner only writes down the stressed words. (Can be varied and done with pictures as well).

132 of 351

9. **Stress Bingo**: Create bingo cards with various sentences. Call out scenarios (e.g., "Read the sentence with stress on 'cat'"). Students mark their cards and read the sentences aloud. (This can also be done with one long sentence with lots of keywords that the teacher reads over and over again stressing a different word.)

The graph details the actual and predicted amount of CO2 emitted in five distinct regions from 2000 to 2040.

Overall, while the CO2 emissions in Region 3 and 4 have increased and are anticipated to follow an upwards trend until 2040, Region 1 experienced a decline and is expected to continue to fall modestly. It is still forecast to release to the highest amount of CO2 throughout the period. There are predictions for Region 2 and 5 to follow similar patterns and remain stable as they were for the first 20 years of the time surveyed.

Regarding those with positive trends, Region 3 started at 4 millions and Region 4 followed closely at about 2.8 millions. In the next five year, the gap between the two was narrowed due to Region 3 falling siginificantly to 3 milliions while Region 4 remaining unchanged. After that, both increased substaintally until 2015, when the former plateaued at 5 millions for the next 10 years while the latter experienced slight fluctuations. Starting from 2030, the two regions are predicted to diverge upswards generally, reaching their highest points at 6 and 5 millions in 2040, respectively.

Turning to the other categories, Region 1 was the only area that experienced a drastic growth of over 1 millions (from 8 to 9.2) in the first 10 years surveyed, before falling significantly to about 7.6 millions in 2020. The CO2 emissions in this region leveled off for 5 years and then is expected to witness a gradual decrease to its lowest point at 7 in 2040. Region 2 and 5 followed similar patterns for the first 25 years and are forecast to remain unchanged for the rest of the period, by which they hover around their starting points at 6 and 1 millions, respectively, although Region 5 recorded larger changes throughout the years.

The graph above display emissions of CO2 from 2000 to 2020 and prediction up to the year 2040.

Right at the start, we can see that Region one was the one with the hightest CO2 esmission and region five was the one with the least CO2 esmissions.

Region one started out with 8 million tons in the 2000, before going up to 9 in the 2010s, then it notice an sudden down fall down to around 7.6 million tons in the 2020s, the it'll have an slowfall down to 7 million in 2040. Region five started out smaller with only a million tons in the 2000s, before increasing to 1.1 million in 2005 before descending to 0.9 in the 2020s, Then it bounces to around 1.8 million in the 2030's before going back down to around 1.1 million in the 2040’s.

As for the middle one, Region 4 started around 2.5 million and stayed that way until the earlys 2010's as it increase to more then million near 2020, and increasing more to 5 millions in 2040. Region three started at 4 millions before bouncing down and up to 4 million again in 2010, it stayed the same from the 2015's to 2030 of 4.9 million before going to six million in the 40's. As for region two, they started at 6 million before going in a wave like pattern of up and down and ultimately return to Six million at 2040.

The table illustrates how often adults in a particular country in Europe used the Internet over a period of five years from 2006 to 2010. Overall, it is noticeable that daily Internet users accounted for the largest proportion over the whole period. While daily usage recorded the biggest rise, the opposite trend for people never using the Internet or 3 times a month was observable.

In 2006, 36% of people in this country used the Internet every day, while the figure for those never using it was slightly lower, at 34%. The former increased steadily to 45% in 2008, and then surged to finish the period at 72%. By contrast, the latter experienced a sharp decline to a modest 2% in 2009, before leveling off by 2010.

The other two categories started significantly lower at 15% each. The percentage of adults using the Internet 3 times per month stayed the same for the first two years, after which frequency dropped gradually to only 5% by 2010. However, the figure for weekly users in 2008 was almost double the starting number, and then decreased steadily to 22% by the end of the period.

The diagram illustrates the various steps involved in producing and recycling water. Overall, it is readily apparent that the process comprises two main stages: the production of paper and the recycling of used newspapers with the former and the latter including six main stages. These two periods both consist of creating pulp and pulp pressing.

Looking at the manufacturing stage, the first process concentrates on felling. Following this, trees’ barks are removed by a drum before being exposed to a chipping machine, which produces wood chippings. Once this step is complete, these chippings are refined into pulp, which undergoes the pressing machine in the next step. In the final stage of the process, the pulp is rolled into paper before being distributed to customers.

Moving to the recycling process, the initial stage involves printing newspapers. Subsequently, the used newspapers undergo a collecting process, prior to eliminating ink before being turned into pulp. Lastly, the mixture is subjected to a pressing process to produce the newly recycled paper before consumption.

The illustration delineates the process of canning fruit. Overall, the procedure encompasses a number of steps, commencing with the manual picking of the fruits and culminating in the final products being delivered to customers.

Initially, workers handpick the fruits which are then transported to a processing facility for cleansing. Following this, the fruits are inspected for suitability for canning. Post quality control, the fruits undergo cold storage prior to being weighed and graded according to their quality. Once sorted, the fruits are peeled, cored and sliced into smaller chunks.

Continuing with the process, the prepared fruits are placed into metal containers. These cans are then vacuum sealed with lids to ensure airtightness and subsequently subjected to high temperatures to cook, be sterilised, a step crucial for exterminating any unwanted microorganisms, thereby extending the shelf life of the cans’ contents. This precedes the labeing phase and a subsequent storage stage. The end of the procedure sees the finished products being dispatched to various retail and wholesale outlets for sale.

The plans show the development of a harbour from 2000 to today. Looking from an overall perspective, the site has been extensively modified with new facilities added and existing amenities reorganised for tourism.

In the bay area, the dock site on the north has been expanded with a replica of the original one built adjacent to it, allowing the access of more passenger ferries. In addition, the marina for private yachts on the northwest of the bay has been relocated, taking the place on the southwest previously occupied by fishing boats and vice verse. In contrast, the public beach located in the northeast coast remained unchanged.

Significant changes have also taken place inland and on the peninsula. Along the main road in the wester edge of the map, there used to be one area for showers and toilets and two car parks situated from north to south. Presently, there is an additional shower and toilet facility positioned between the two parking lots. On the peninsula, the lifeboat station and the road connecting it with the main road have untouched whereas new amenities have been added near the lifeboat station, including a café and a shop located just to the west. In the south, the formerly disused castle has been converted into a hotel, complete with a road connecting to the lifeboat station while the public beach is now exclusively available for hotel visitors.

Martial arts has been shown to contribute greatly not only to self-esteem but also strengthen a child’s determination in the face of obstacles. This will surely help children at school and in their future careers.

One thing we can all probably tell is that countryside people in both developed and developing countries are packing their stuff to go live in the city. This trend proves some benefits to the citizens and also the city and country.

By relocating to rural areas, people will not be afraid of missing out. Life conditions in cities are much better than in the suburb: more public services are available like stores, supermarkets, pools, entertaining sites; there is better education for children and on-hand public transportation. There is also the stigma of being farmers in the countryside that can be eliminated by moving to the city.

By relocating to rural areas, people are less likely to miss out on a higher standard of living. Some argue that the best way to ensure a happy family life for children is to make parents take part in parenting courses on a yearly basis.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

289 of 351

There are some argue about people think that make mothers and fathers take a part in perenting course every year is the best way to ensure a happy family for children. I agree with this way but it's not a best way.

Make mothers and fathers take a part in perenting courses every year have many benefits. The first one, it could helps parents with their child more understand each other. Second one, some parents can't not talk to there childrens in the normal way for some reasons, for example, there are in the age of teenagers. There fore after parenting courses , they can understand their children and talk with them in the right ways. The last one, parents could recieve an advice about what they should do this family from some mothers of fathers had an experience in this case. After parenting courses for parents, they can be more bonding and understanding their children so it is a good way to ensure a happy family.

In some situations, parenting courses couldn't make scence or helps some parents to ensure their family because the reason comes from their personalities. Some parents just put to much presure on their child with the mindset study lead success. They think force their and freedom can make the children become depress. Furthermore, there are parents they always abuse their child with out understanding or hear some explaining.

Participating in parenting courses annually is often argued whether it is the optimum way to create a happy family for children. In my perspective, In order to ensure a happy family for our kids, parents don't need such complex courses

Learning courses about raising kids has plenty of benefits of taking care of our children. When parents participate a course, they will have possibility of studying and receiving advices from kids experts or professional lecturers who have experiences and deep knowledges about children. For instance, young parents with lack of their child knowledge will get lessons about kid's emotions, what food or what kind of nutrition, vitamin should the parents feed their child to make them healthy and many more advantages. With useful courses, young parents will be well-prepared to raise their firstchild. However, joining courses like these have some serious drawbacks for parents. Thesedays, in order to find a quality course that teaches parents meaningful lessons to grow their child is quite a bigdeal and can cost huge amount of money. Recent years, There were countless low-quality and illegal courses that teach parenting for citizens with no knowledges, so many family was stammed by these fake courses and lost considerable amount of cash. Furthermore, participating high-quality courses can be very difficult for families with weak finances,

I believe that growing kids naturally is way more safe and effective, parents can spend more time with their kids teaching them basic lessons so their kids will able to grow healthily. Forexample, my sister who is the mother of 2 kids, raised her child with her own knowledge and with her "mother's instinct" sucessfully grew her kids naturally and now their kids are living a happy life..

Some say that the best way to ensure a happy life for kids is to make parents take part in parenting course every year. I personally agree with that opinion

Parents that disagreed may say that they want to raise their child a different way for different careers. Parents that does that either want their child to be raised their way or want to raise their child according to the careers they chose for their child. But doing so have risk, first time parent may not know how to take care or raise their child properly and could ended up harming their child's or their own life.

Parents that agreed with that statement may say that raising their child according to the parenting course is beneficial. Parenting course are often created by professional or parents that already have skills to teach other parents to raise their child. Even tho this lack understanding of the child to some careers, it is still provide parents with an easy way to raise their's child.

In conclusion, while doing co can waste time and money it still provide parents with a easy and efficent way to raise their child properly and accordingly to professional. And i say again that I agree withe the opinion of doing that.

Some people argue that making mothers and fathers taking part in parenting courses every year is the most effective way to ensure a happy family life for children. I totally agree with this idea.

Others might disagree with this opinion, saying that taking part in parenting courses yearly doesn't help with ensuring a happy family life as these courses were said t o be a waste oftime, especially when parents take part in them every year i which as a result , is considered as having a lack of time spent with your children. Furthermore, they may argue that each kid and family has their own way of expressing emotions and feelings, and parenting courses is are way too vague to teach parents how to correctly treat their child.

However, from my point of view, taking courses to learn how to be better parents is a very positive and good thing to do. They al are first-time parents at a point, which means no experience, and parenting courses could help them to improve. As I mentioned, people thought these courses cannot help you out as they are the being too vague But that does not make sense at all. Parentiry courses are created to for parents to learn how to treat kids appropriately and effectively base on how their child acts, their personalities, ard how they express feelings. By that parents can learn how to take care of their kids and show love to them correctly. And that would lead to a happy family upe, where there are no misunderstanding, where the kids feel comportable showing the real side of them and where they are not afraid to share how they feel. Not only that, but also to know where and which type of environment to put them into according to their hobbies and behavior.

To conclude, making mothers and fathers taking port in parenting courses every years does bring out a positive result in creating a happy family life for their children as well as build stronger bonds between family members.

Some people might argue that technology has contributed to a reduction in incidence of crimes, whereas others think that it can actually pave the way for criminals. From my perspective, although technological development can facilitate more sophisticated crimes, I believe it serves an important role in crime deterrence and enhancing road safety.

On the one hand, advancement in technology can lead to more complex crimes being committed. There is now an alarming increase in the number of cybercrimes such as online scams and frauds. This is because criminals are given a better chance to steal personal information such as ID cards and bank accounts, which can trick many people into losing huge amounts of money. These criminal activities can also be conducted on a larger and organisational scale. Sophisticated hackers can take advantage of technological errors in the operational system of some banks and illegally obtain enormous quantities of money.

On the other hand, I strongly advocate that new technologies can make a significant contribution for greater overall safety. Many residential areas and apartment buildings nowadays are equipped with camera systems and burglar alarms. Installing these devices can result in a decrease in the number of thieves and burglars breaking into houses. Another significant benefit is that technology can help to improve road safety. Surveillance cameras on the streets and using augmented Artificial Intelligence such as face recognition can help to identify drivers violating traffic laws such as speeding more easily.

In conclusion, technological advancement can foster growth in more sophisticated crimes. However, it can play an important role in crime prevention, contributing to better social safety.

Nowadays many young people prefer starting their own business rather than working for a company. Why is this the case? Do you think this is a positive or negative trend?

312 of 351

There is now a growing interest in entrepreneurship among young people. From my perspective, I believe that the main reason behind this positive trend is a high level of job satisfaction.

Owning a startup can help young people feel professionally fulfilled. Many young individuals nowadays find traditional nine-to-five jobs repetitive and uninspiring, which can make them feel confined to a cubicle every day and feel like a cog in a machine. Conversely, starting their own business can allow them to pursue their passions and make a meaningful contribution to society. For example, a group of Vietnamese graduates decided to establish a company specialising in selling bio-degradble straws to help to reduce plastic waste. They find this job deeply rewarding because it can enable them to generate income while encouraging consumers to adopt a more environmentally conscious lifestyle.

This increasing interest towards entrepreneurship is such a positive because start-ups play an important role in a country’s advancement by introducing new technologies. For instance, prominent fintech startups in Vietnam such as Momo and VNPay offer a range of digital payment solutions. They have facilitated faster and easier transactions, contributing to overall economic growth. Moreover, such a trend can encourage young entrepreneurs to address local challenges. Many young individuals from rural areas have created impactful solutions to their hometowns’ farming methods by adopting organic practices and sustainable cultivation. This can lead to the development of their communities and, consequently, the country as a whole.

In conclusion, professional fulfillment is the primary reason why there is an increasing number of young entrepreneurs. This trend can engender significant benefits in terms of technological and societal advancement.

Task 2: Too much emphasis is given for education of the young. More government money should be spent on free time activities for young people. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

318 of 351

It is often said that young people nowadays are have to be under too much strain in their study and, thus, there are some who hold firmly the their belief that governments should focus more on investing money in free time activities the entertainment of adolescents. As far as I am concerned, I disagree with this opinion due to some major points that will be addressed in the following paragraphs.

On the one hand, there are some evidences to defend the argument. In this day and age, people tend to be more competitive in many domain, and education is no different. As a result, it is evident that more and more students have to learn frantically to counteract peer pressure and meet the high expectations from their parents, directly leading to the increase in stressful rates of youth in recent years. Accordingly, It would be reasonable for the governments and councils to invest more money in entertaining services, which can create more opportunities for recreation and healing of the youth. For example, governments can construct more commercial malls or cinemas, and reduce the ticket price to make teenagers more accessible to various types of entertainment.

On the other hand, I still believe that investing too much money in this field is not necessary or even harmful for youth. Firstly, there are many other domains that nations should prioritize, such as social well-being, healthcare or tourism. It would be beyond the nations’ budget, especially for developing countries, if they prioritize entertainment over other crucial sections. Secondly, creating more opportunities for young people to entertain themselves may put them at risk of being lazy, addicted and disoriented. This is supported by the fact that many adolescents in urban areas spend most of their time in entertaining places such as billiards and internet shops, who do not have any stable jobs and live mostly on the income of parents.

In conclusion, although entertainment is essential for young people in this competitive era, I still believe that it is not necessary for governments to spend money on this risky domain. Instead of investing in free time activities, I highly recommend governments to create and apply more policies and teaching programmes to minimize the strain in educational environments.

Some people feel that entertainers such as film stars, pop musicians or sports stars are paid too much money.

Do you agree or disagree?

Which other types of job should be highly paid?

323 of 351

Many people believe that entertainment workers like film actors, pop musicians, or sports stars are paid much more money than they should. I totally disagree with this because they are popular among the public and have brand value. However, there are multiple other jobs like farming and governing which should be highly paid.

Entertainers are famous among all generations, and people are crazy just to get a glimpse of them. They can go to any extent to get their autograph or click with them. Also, many artists play a huge part in making the name of the film, the sports, or the music style popular and much more loved by the public. Due to this popularity, the film and sports industry pay huge sums a huge cheque to these stars, since their business almost entirely depends on them. For example, renowned actor Robert Downey Jr is one of the highest paidpayed actors in the world right now ; this is because he has played in many successful films and is easily recognizable by the public. Also, he is the key actor in the film series Avengers, which produced a huge amount of money, which in turn put a huge value in the brand Marvel. So it is only fair for him to get paid handsomely.

However, in my opinion, other jobs like farming and people working for the government should also be highly paid. These jobs are the key parts for a country, as they form most the country's part and also help to build up the country. These jobs are highly important and should also be paid fairly by the government itself. For example, farmers help support the whole country by providing others with foods to eat; without them, the whole country may starve or take most of their time to grow foods themselves, as a result, most of their time is taken and they won't have enough time to do their own jobs and help contributes the country. So jobs like these should also have a high salary.

In conclusion, I completely agree that stars like actors, musicians and sportsmen are given huge amounts of money which is equally deserved by other jobs that contribute themselves for a country.

In many countries, the number of animals and plants are declining. Why do you think is it happening? How to solve this issue?

328 of 351

In many parts of the world, the quantity of flaura and fauna has been declining drastically. In my opinion, this happens as a result of widespread deforestation and poaching. Conservation projects would be practical approaches to mitigate the situation.

A diminishing number of plants and animals can be explained by deforestation and illegal hunting. Firstly, as population grows, people clear more land to construct houses and factories for residential and commercial purposes. This means a vast area of natural habitat which is home to large number of spcies are lost. Gradually, wildlife find themselves no place to shelter and feed, and eventually on the brink of extiction. Moreover, body parts of some wild species are valued for their use in traditional medicine, therefore, many hunters poach these animals for commercial profit. This poses a huge threat to the survival of these rare animals.

To prevent biodiversity loss, more environmental projects should be implemented. The government can establish breeding centres to increase the population of some species at risk and reintroduce them later into the wild. One case in point is various Giant Panda Breeding Centres in China have been set up and successfully raised the population of pandas. In addition, the establishment and maintenance of reserved areas such as natural reserves or national parks are great ways to deter wildlife organisms from extinction. Many wildlife refuges worldwide have proven to conserve wildlife, as well as protect their habitats and ecosystems from human encroachment and development.

In conclusion, I believe that the issue of on-going bioversity loss is primarily due to humans’ activities in destroying forests and hunting rare species. Feasible measures would be practical conservation projects regarding protecting wildlife’s habitats and population. More importantly, humans should be conscious of the paramount significance of plants and animals in our life and take actions to preserve them.

As major cities in the world are growing today, so do their problems. What are the problems for young people who are living in the cities as the result of continued growth? What are the solutions for these problems?

333 of 351

It is evident that the world's cities metropolises are rapidly expanding. Because it can influence future generations, this difficulty has become one of the most urgent challenges in recent years. The next paragraphs would explore the concern as well as the potential solutions.

To commence with, the rapid expansion of cities leads to a concentration of high-tech occupations, resulting in a lack of occupational diversification. Because young people fall short of the employment standards, they are unable to find work. As a result, they are unable to maintain themselves financially. Moreover, the high housing rent contributes to downtown's continuous expansion. In general, the living environment improves as the location's development level improves. As a result, property developers refuse to construct low-quality residences such as budget flats and houses that employees can afford. Under those conditions, it is obvious to note that the young generation would be restrained in their further development facing housing and job-related challenges.

Nevertheless, on the other hand, the above-mentioned problems are significantly diminished, under the condition that the government and employers make a proper plan of action to counteract the difficulties. To proceed, the government can implement a rental control mechanism to regulate rents. To be specific, the authority might establish a percentage of rent based on their earnings. As a result, the system protects the livelihood opportunities. Second, firms could provide positions with varying requirements. For example, breaking down a single project into numerous tasks results in the creation of extra occupations. Apparently, it has the potential to alter working circumstances.

In conclusion, the rapid expansion of the city is to blame for young people's career and housing shortages. These issues might well be readily remedied only when the government and employers each establish a jointed scheme.

In many cities, planners tend to arrange shops, schools, offices and homes in specific areas and separate them from each other.

Do you think the advantages of this policy outweigh the disadvantages?

338 of 351

It is crucial to consider that the policy of planning the city’s infrastructure in separately distinct zones has become more and more popular. While this may pose a problem with traveling, I strongly believe that the drawback can be overshadowed by effective management and social connection as its benefits.

On the one hand, there is one potential hole of inconvenient traffic attached to this planning policy. City dwellers are likely to travel long distances for individual locations. In other words, everyone may have a city tour commuting to work in the north, shopping centers in the south, and home in the west every single day. Moreover, traffic congestion will arise during peak hours, particularly in schools and offices, because they are normally high-density areas.

On the other hand, planners would like to categorize facilities according to different purposes, and in separate sectors for better management and connection. Firstly, citizens will make use of this policy to enhance the management of specific areas. Each zone may be maximized its functions thanks to appropriate regulations. For instance, recreation areas should be vivid and well-decorated, whereas people in residential houses and buildings need tranquility for resting. Likewise, shopping stores will not be affected by bad smells or even trash from the food and beverage sectors. Besides, citizens may have a promising chance to widen their social circle with like-minded ones who can support one another in the same areas.

In conclusion, the planning policy possessing the merits of neat organization and integration far outweighs certain limitations in terms of transportation.

In many families today, both parents work full-time. Some people believe that childcare centres provide the best care for children, while others believe that it is better if relatives such as grandparents look after them.

Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

343 of 351

In this day and age, there are many families that have both husband and wife working. This leads to the problem of where and who to send the children of these working parents. While some of them believe it is best to send their kids to chilcare centers, others think family members like grandparents could take care of the kids. Personally, I agree with the latter.

There are several reasons why some working parents would argue that centers for childcare are the most ideal place for looking after their children. Firstly, the staffs at these places are well-educated in caring for kids that they can provide a high quality of care. Specifically, they would use scientifically proven sound methods for looking after kids, which would benefit for both the mental and physical well-being of the babies. Secondly, these centers are normally equipped with a wide variety of facilities that are designated for kids. For instance, they generally have a large playground with many babies’ games in it, which is not likely the case in an individual’s private house.

Having said that, I would argue that relatives like grandparents can provide a good care of the kids, and thus, the parents who are working should send their babies to these relatives. For one, grand parents are mostly retired people who have a lot of free time to play with their grandchildren. In addition, elderly people are the expericenced caregivers who are very skillfully in looking after babies, as they have taken care of their children before. The final and also the most important reason is that parents could feel much more secured when letting their kids looked after by the granparents but not the strangers. There are a lot of rising concerns regarding treating babies cruelly in private centers among parents. So, by letting their family members caring for the kids, they could mitigate this risk.

Finding a place for kids to stay in while their parents are working is a real challenge in our modern days. While childcare centers might appear as a potential option, I believe that it is best to let relatives like grandparents looking after the kids while their parents are at work.

In recent times, science and technology have witnessed rapid development. A variety of people believe that the final target of developing science is to improve humans’ lives. Personally, I strongly agree with this statement due to several reasons.

First and foremost, throughout human evolution, science was developed due to the basic needs of humanity. In the past, remarkable inventors such as steam engines, electricity or the Internet have their own uses to serve humans’ lives. In other words, science inventors were originally made with an aim of offering people easier and more convenient lives. Furthermore, everytime scientists discover a new type of species, they will definitely examine it to find out whether it has useful features which can be applied in order to benefit humanity. Therefore, it can be seen that enhancing the quality of people's lives has always been considered as the first priority in science.

In addition, only if people’s living standards are improved by science will they focus on developing it. People tend to prioritize their basic demands over everything. Thus, in the past when the world had to face the shortage of food in a number of areas, people preferred farming and growing crops to investing in science. As modern technologies were invented to develop agricultural efficiency, there are currently more agricultural and food scientists than ever.

In conclusion, I strongly support the statement that the most crucial aim of science is to raise humans’ lives. Benefiting humanity has always been considered as the target of developing science throughout thousands of years. Additionally, people can only pay attention to science development if it helps increase their quality of life since they prefer to meet their basic demand more than the other things.
