REPAIRED NATIONS creates redress for historic trends of colonization and oppression through cooperative training and development for collective ownership. Initially, REPAIRED NATIONS focuses on building wealth in Black communities by giving youth the tools needed to remain rooted: access to land and access to capital. Bookclubs, Workshops, and Trainings will educate and inspire communities to engage in cooperative effort, while giving grounded, practical skills for collective ownership.

Ultimate Goal: Global Network of cooperatively run enterprises that trade amongst each other and create inter- generational wealth for families and communities.

Immediate Goal: To educate youth of color in California about cooperative enterprise and develop necessary infrastructure for cooperative development in under-resourced, disadvantages communities.

Cooperative Networks!!!

We find ourselves in the middle of the UN’s International Decade for Peoples of African Descent and in the midst of the Year of Return, proclaimed by Ghana’s president in 2019 to mark 400 years since the start of the transatlantic slave trade.  Ghana is poised to remain a seat of power after the African Free Trade Agreement created the world’s largest free trade zone, encompassing 54 African countries, and Ghana was chosen as the administrative seat. The African Diaspora is positioned to jumpstart an economy once terrorized by colonialism.

Repaired Nations seeks to help African Americans find their way into African's Renaissance in ways that coalesces the Diaspora, and heals deep economic and psychic wounds. We are organizing a cultural exchange trip to create pathways for African Americans to reinvest in Ghana regeneratively, without perpetuating the inequities of today's capitalism.

Cooperative Conference Vision

In partnership with the Ghana Cooperatives Council, we will host an un-conference in Accra at the National Theatre where attendees will share knowledge and experience. This conference will begin, re-establish, and strengthen economic relationships throughout the African Diaspora.

Following the Conference we will conduct a 50 year policy visioning to begin creating shared agendas, structuring collective efforts, offer experience and expertise to local projects, and engage in critical conversations regarding international cooperative exchange of resources. Attendees will create guidelines for our selves and others to create cooperative relationships that bloom into

    • Cultural content,
    • Import/export agreements,

28 Black or POC Cooperative Entrepreneurs ages 6 - 65 depart in 2019

We are organizing a cultural exchange trip to create pathways for African Americans to reinvest in Ghana regeneratively, without perpetuating the problems of capitalism. Our cultural exchange invites West African and U.S. cooperatives to begin dialogue for a co-created equitable development policy for Ghanaian economic development, and beyond. Dialogue is the key to our trip, for only through dialogue can two distanced peoples begin to find synergies between themselves, only through dialogue can new arrivals to Ghana know what Ghanaians want for Ghana and how to help steward this vision. This conference will begin, re-establish, and strengthen economic relationships throughout the African Diaspora.
