Communication & Meetings

  • Students need to regularly check their LPS email for important information. This is the main way Mrs. Andrews will send out information to students.
  • Mrs. Andrews mostly works remotely so Google Chat is the best way for students to get a quick question answered
  • Mrs. Andrews will be joining Mrs. Scifres in the one-on-one graduation readiness meetings with seniors. We will cover:
    • Review graduation requirements
    • Transcript review and attendance
    • Review senior survey responses - student survey sent to senior’s LPS email! (parent/guardian will get separate parent survey)
    • Creating FSA ID (more on that later) - need social security number

Financial Assistance

for College Tests & Application

Students who meet certain financial criteria could qualify for FEE WAIVERS for college applications and SAT/ACT exam fees.

If you think your family could qualify, contact the registrar or academic advising office for the application.

All Texas high school graduates must either complete the FAFSA/TAFSA or have a signed opt-out form submitted

Create FSA ID* at studentaid.gov

*It can take up to 3 days to get your FSA ID after creating your account!

*Both parents and students will need to create their own FSA ID

FAFSA & FSA ID

  • LPS will schedule a FAFSA Night to assist families with understanding and the FAFSA
  • As of now, the government has stated the 2025-2026 FAFSA will be open on or before December 1st

LPS uses Parchment to digitally and securely send official transcripts online

In order to have access to free self-views of unofficial transcripts, students MUST use a registration code to create their Parchment account

Registration codes have been emailed to returning students. New students can contact the academic advising office for their registration code.

Academic Advisor Recommendation

Students must complete the google form to request a letter of recommendation.

Please allow 1-2 weeks after completing the google form for letter to be sent

Mrs. Andrews might request a meeting before completing a letter of recommendation

Top 10% Automatic Admission

You may qualify for automatic admission to Texas public universities if you are in the top 10% of your class (Top 6% for UT Austin!)

College are likely looking at the following:

  • Quartile ranking (Top 25%, 50%, etc)
  • GPA
  • SAT or ACT test scores
  • Essays
  • Extracurriculars

Outside the top 10% or applying private or out of state?

You must still apply to the university and be accepted. Check the university’s website for admission requirements.
