Goal Benchmarks:
Important Note: The intention is to raise enough money
to cover ALL of the projects listed above. If for some reason we don’t meet our $20K goal, we will still have the money to cover all of these projects.
Student Newsroom
Benefit: Student newscasts increase
engagement and sets a positive tone.
It fosters collaboration and it teaches media literacy. Older students will have the opportunity to learn different facets of running a newscast.
Reflection Room
Benefit: Even more students than before need safe, quiet, low-stimulation areas that allow the user to relax and reflect. This room will be an extension of the library and will be available for any student which needs this environment.
Musical Playground / Garden
Benefit: Musical play instruments on a school playground provide opportunities to expose children to the benefits of musical interaction. Children also build social skills through these instruments by learning to share and cooperate with others to create beautiful sound. Lastly, we heard from many of you that an additional play space was needed.
Blacktop Renovation
Benefit: Blactops allow for organized play which allow children to move their bodies and strengthen interpersonal relationships. We have found reusable stencils that will help us to maintain this space longer. Also, e have heard from many of you that this space was in desperate need of a makeover.
